Garioch is saying that the price for Pageau is a 1st and a prospect. I think that speaks well to Toffoli potentially pulling a 1st round draft pick. Toffoli is much more established and is not too far off of Pageau's pace this season.

JGP is a center in an incredibly weak market for centers though. I'd love to get a 1st for Toffoli, but I don't think Pageau is a great comparable. He also has a reputation for playing all situations, which we know Toffoli can do but it's not like he's known for it.

Yeah, I agree on the positional front, teams always over pay for centers. I think you are right about JPG getting more at the deadline, but I'm hoping JPG being valued so high also raises Toffoli's stock as an available forward on the market.

I mean JG Pageau has never even broken 20 goals and his career high is 43 points. Tyler Toffoli's worst year of production (outside his rookie year) is literally better than all by JG's best. yes, he's the more versatile player at C, but a contender will be taking him to be a 3C, not a complementary middle six scoring winger. That's recency and Canadian bias at it's finest if everyone is good with a 1st and a prospect for JGP but we're fighting for a 2nd and trash and cap dumps for TT.

Pageau is riding an extremely outlier season with nearly a 20% shooting percentage at the right time for sure but man you'd think he's a 60 point center that's going to put a franchise over the top or something. And I say that as a guy who absolutely loves his game.

I think the sharks will still finish in the standings ahead of the kings even with a regulation loss. Increase the chances of a franchinse player going east if the kings don't get 1OA. So that's why I prefer not to see a 3 point game.

I watched the Blues vs. Canucks game last night after mostly only watching the Kings and Ducks all season, and man, it's crazy how much more dynamic both of those teams look than any of ours in California. The Canucks in particular are going to be a handful for years to come. Hughes and Horvat were buzzing all the over the ice.

yup, they have some really really good core pieces at every key position. Also they have some more good prospects on there way

I’d prefer they turn back the clock and go with Seattle Totems, but in today’s society it may be offensive to some.

Guess we will find out soon enough.

Kraken just sounds childish to me. Whatever. I don't think Totems would have been a problem, though. It's not something that involves representation of people like the Redskins or Chief Knockahoma.
