I have to somewhat applaud these guys for their composure at times.

I mean I bang my table and throw my remote at home and I didn't build my underachieving chokefest team

Good deal for Andersson in CGY, 6yrs, 4.55 million.

That's right, 6 more years of gloved punches from behind refs and ground-and-pound on unsuspecting opponents! Do you know how much superglue you can apply to your gloves for 4.55 million?

It's a great deal. Treliving has been unbelievable at re-signing his players. UFA signings not so much, but re-signing guys he has been a real heater. How do you get Lindholm to less than $5M for 4 more years!

Holy smoke, Detroit's goal differential is -72!! next worse is New Jersey with -39 (LA has -29). That is friggin deplorable.

Feel like this is Detroit this season. Devils have oddly been playing reasonably okay since the Hall trade, that might have just been the elephant in the room; 5-4-1 with a -1 differential which includes a 5-1 loss when our #4 goalie was fed to the wolves to give Blackwood a break.

The Blues don't miss Tarasenko. The Pens don't miss Crosby. The Bruins seem to be able to waste $6m on Backes without missing a beat. Ladd is in the AHL. Eriksson is tied for the largest cap hit in Vancouver. Doughty has an $11m cap hit, Winnipeg is currently spending $14.3m on their entire defense.

Read the main boards comments is hilarious. Calling out Kassian and Doughty for whinning. Goodness that was awesome seeing Kassian beat the s*** out of that weasel.

Now we get to complain for several years that he has to fight Kassian, that's how this works, right?
Honestly, it depends on the player. There is something admirable though about Adam Deadmarsh or Mike Richards going after the players that gave them concussions as soon as they were ready and able.

The Kings have Dustin Brown running around drilling people for years. Do I think he is a wimp for not answering the bell every time he makes a big hit? No, because he is a top six forward whose value is in being on the ice, creating space for his linemates, and making big hits. He pretty much sucks as a fighter and the opposition loved seeing him in the penalty box for 5 minutes. I am sure a lot of opposing fans call Brown a rat, but I don't see it that way.

If Tkachuk hits like that, keeps his elbows tucked, doesn't charge, etc., I have no problem with it. He is too valuable a player to sit in the box for 5 minutes every time a scrub wants him to drop the gloves.

What I would have like to see in that situation is McDavid fight him. Crosby has done something like that from time to time, and it has much more impact on morale than someone like Kassian rag dolling Tkachuk.

In general, I am not a fan of the newer code. In particular I don't like the staged fights. If two guys are genuinely pissed at each other then it's a better situation, because blowing off steam is what fighting in hockey is supposed to be all about.

Was it satisfying seeing Tkachuk gets his ass beat a little? Sure it was, but I wished if Doughty has such a big problem with the guy he would handle his own business.

I'm with you. I'm just satirizing the logic after the elbow to the face, which basically said that because Doughty mouthed off about Tkachuk's dirty play, he should fight him.
