For a team that hasn't won a playoff series in their history, they almost have no choice but to go for it at this time. It is very clear the organization wants to have at least that monkey off their back. Laugh, deride or chastise them if you will but I'm rooting for them to do just that and maybe even more.

I encourage you not to label people you don't even know.

As I illustrated to you Cherry praised and criticized Ovechkin in two separate videos. What did he critique? Ovechkin's actions. If Cherry is a "racist" shouldn't he just hate Ovechkin? Why critique his actions? Isn't that exactly what you said above, that people should be judged on their own merit and their actions?

I think you should re-examine your own standard and start applying it.

I certainly don't trust you to be the arbiter of who is a racist, and who is not, based on what I have seen you do around here. Worry about yourself. The world would be a better place.
While I have no desire to discuss Cherry any further, I just want to point out the comedic value of you, someone whom I was speaking neither to nor about, flying in from left field like Rambo without a jock strap to tell me "worry about yourself." :loony:

If they somehow manage to win it all it will absolutely be worth it but otherwise, they're kinda screwed either way going forward. Tough place to be for sure.

For us observers/outsiders maybe not winning it all means it wasn’t worth it. For the organization (and the fans) getting to the 2nd round means everything. Remains to be seen if the team can come together in the playoffs.

To play devils advocate for a moment in regards to CBJ’s situation, The 2011-2012 Kings barely squeaked into the post season after a letdown of a regular season. Quick bailed them out so many times and kept them in games they had no business being in because they couldn’t put the puck in the net.

While I’m not saying this years CBJ team is anything like our 2011 team, anything can happen in the post season, and with what seems to be a recurring theme of players wanting to flee the state after getting traded there, I can understand managements frustration and saying ‘F it, let’s go for it!’

Do I think the ballsy move will pay off? Probably not, but then again, hardly anyone had The Kings beating The Canucks in the 1st round. :D

Hagelin killed Skinner.

Kings lost a lot of close games that were low scoring. Lotta 1-0, 2-1s. Once they got their offense to 2 goals a game, they started winning.

Yeah, my bad. I need glasses.

I personally like what Columbus is doing. They are still well below Tampa but I think right now they are the 2nd best team in the East. Duchene seems interested in settling down somewhere and Dzingel has plenty of familiarity with Columbus being a 3 year guy and former captain for OSU.

I didn't realize Dzingel also had ties to that area. Nice. He's a hell of a player. That's a good add for them too.

One more thing on CBJ--I can be convinced of what they're doing, I just disagree with their abilities as a team unless Duchene doesn't vanish and playoff Bob becomes a thing of the past. Because they still have to run through TBL, NYI, PIT, WSH, TOR in some combination. And they paid a heavy price for that kick at the can, Because now they have no 1st or 2nd this year, no 1st (if duchene signs) 2nd or 3rd next year, and no 2nd in 2021. Even the Kings had more/higher picks when they were purging assets.

Lumbus is now the definition of going all in. Could potentially lose Panarin, Duchene and Bobs. Its a tough situation because you have your 2 superstars that don't want to be there. I think its pretty admirable to make these kind of moves, but its sure as hell ballsy and putting your job on the line basically. It'll be extremely tough to get past Washington, Tampa and Boston though so its probably not a gamble that I would've made

Looks like Jones is keeping his below .900 save pct alive. Got pulled again and Lumbus got a 4-0 shutout. How the hell are the Sharks winning ?
