Ryan Reaves is making almost $3M a year. What a terrible contract.
There’s likely more pressure on Lou to keep him now than there was with any of our UFA’s. Lou doesn’t have tenure there. It won’t cost him his job or anything, but it might already be one dent against him on his resume with the ownership group. A lot of our prized assets left under Lou’s watch, though, not all of them were his fault and losing them was for the best all along. I don’t any were as important as Tavares is for the Islanders. Maybe Nieder was, but we had #30 to absorb that.
I mean...how many times did it happen here?
At least people would stop complaining that it only happened here, if it happens now.
Lou went the Isles because there were desperate and gave him absolute power.

It's not even so much that...he's 76 and didn't exactly go there to rebuild (neither did Trotz for that matter). That's a rebuild or should be without JT, but it won't be so he'll have to take some huge risks there.
$2.775M per for 2 years
Somehow I have a feeling that if the Islanders lose Tavares, you'll still be talking about how they'll be in the playoffs....I know Lou had nothing to do with it but they had an A+ draft
I mean, he is a rare breed in this league. Not many of them left around anymore. Goons are on the endangered species list in the NHL and he's one of the few left.

TENSIONS IN OUR LIVES THAT ARE DESTROYING OUR MINDS!
IMO, he stays with NYb
He's prob letting Lou throw in a few more things and ironing it out.

The deal would have been done and announced by now.
