that guy is such a brooding dark soul. i wouldn't be surprised if he got angry and just retired from hockey at this point though. he's already won the cup

If I'm him, I'd strongly consider it.

He already accomplished something I'm sure he never thought he ever would and that's win a Championship.

He was at the right place, playing on the right team, at the right time.

Wherever else he goes, if he gets playing time, it would be on a team that's struggling and has nothing going for them (kind of like US a few years ago).

I would expect Wash to reward DSP for his clutch playoffs.

This x100. Los Angeles and Chicago got themselves into trouble this way. Pay your top guys, and sell high on the depth players.

Pittsburgh is one team that has avoided that, athough obviously they're a bit of a freak having two of the best centers in the world. Plus they have an annoying habit of finding guys like Rust, Guentzel, etc.

Do any of you guys know how the Isle's financial situation is nowadays? Does Lou have the green light to spend?
Yes. He has full control on all things related to the team.

In an unrelated note, the isles are asking NY for a 400k tax break to help re-renovate the Colosseum. The price has gone up from 6 million (think state is paying half) to 9.5 million to make it NHL ready. Belmont is already behind schedule, and the lirr helping out with a 3rd line and making belmont a permanent station are low (according to my buddies who work for the mta) And in Suffolk county an 18k arena got approved (with no tenant as of now).

Even if he did, Lou's motto has always been :
"If you have time......USE IT." (or something like that) :sarcasm::sarcasm::sarcasm::sarcasm:

Glen no kidding !
BoBo, my point is, is the new ownership OK with spending to the cap or are they like us when we had new ownership to keep things on the lower end for a while.

I don't think the Islanders could be an internal budget team and convince Tavares to stay. Plus they just went out and got Lou, who then paid Trotz, so I think they're willing to spend.

The owners just spent a lot of money to bring in Lou/Trotz and to make Snow and Weight go away (and presumably Lou wasn't going to another situation where he'd be hamstrung), I don't think money is going to be the issue with JT.

We're going to find out soon....either at July 1st or after.

Habs supposedly interested in Voynov. Trade Subban because of supposed locker room issues. Sign abusive piece of shit. Sounds about right for Bergevin.
