Welp, I was giving Rutherford crap for holding onto Condon like he was gonna get something for him...guess that's why he's a GM and I'm not!

You left off 3rd slowest.

I know it's blasphemy around here but I don't think this team is that slow. DK is stuck in first gear but most of the rest of the team are real good skaters, a lot of it is the system and lack of execution. We won't be a blazing speed team like Pit or SJ's top end, but us getting caught in backchecks is more a systematic thing than crappy skating.

Given the circumstances, this makes sense

Condon to Senators, Bobby Mac says it was for a 5th rounder.

Condon is in ANA with PIT today...will fly back to be in OTT lineup tomorrow

That's a pretty steep price!

Is anyone surprised the Ducks got smoked tonight? Just show when you create scoring chances, and don't play on the perimeter you score goals.

Hockey is about defensing and grinding your opponent into submission. What the hell is this "Goal Scoring" you speak of?

NHL investigating Isles ice

Clutterbuck calls it the worst ice he's skated on in his NHL career. Last year there were reports of the ice being substandard and the dangerous.

Chris Botta @ChrisBottaNHL

2. Barclays has PVC piping. All other NHL rinks have steel pipes. PVC cannot maintain ideal temp of 21 degrees for NHL play.

Management was told to upgrade it in the offseason, tear up the floor and install the correct piping, per Chris Botta, they elected not to.

So what happens if the NHL determines it's unusable by their standards and shuts it down for NHL hockey? I'm not sure if they can go back to the Island for home games.

Bad decision all around and the players hate it there, for a lot of reasons, including the 50 minute commute each day to practice and games.
No wonder there are rumors that Taveres might sign elsewhere next year

:shakehead

We have found the problem: Stupid. The bigger issue is trying to fix Stupid.

Who uses PVC as part of a cooling system. The thermal transfer through PVC is much slower then Steel.

Could they play at MSG? I know it's not ideal for either the Rangers or Isles, but it is an option if the Barclays center isn't available.

I would guess probably not for this season. MSG, like Staples, is probably booked 365 days a year.

Interesting article on ESPN ranking teams based on their #1 center, #1 d-man, and #1 goalie. Each player was rated 1-10 and the average was taken.

Kings came in tied 2nd behind Chicago. Doughty came in at a perfect 10 (only d-man to do so). Kopitar rated at 9.5 (behind Toews- 9.6, Crosby- 10, and McDavid- 10). And Quick was rated a 7.4.

I know Quick isn't necessarily loved by reporters/analysts but I thought he'd be higher than that. I've always felt the Kings have one of the top 3 5 man + goalie units in the NHL (Kopitar, Carter, Toffoli, Doughty, Muzzin, Quick). It's just the depth that's absolutely garbage.

Have to be an insider to read it though.

You don't see a team put up a 10 spot very often.

Lumbus-10
Habs-0

The plus 20 goal differential got cut in half in one game.
