Huge brawls in Toronto tonight.

Martin is gonna get his ass kicked by Gudbranson next game for going after Ryan Miller.

Elliotte Friedman ‏@FriedgeHNIC · 14h14 hours ago

Matt Martin jumped Troy Stecher and Ryan Miller goes after him! Line brawl. Martin mad Dorsett wouldn't fight him and fought Komarov instead

and the stout hearted Canucks decree:

A canucks player yelling in the hallway: "Matt Martin's dead. Everyone can hear it. Matt Martin's dead."

Teams play again Dec. 3.

Also , Kadri elbowed Sedin in the head and knock his helmet off. He has already been suspended twice, so I guess if he gets suspended, it would be 6 game or more.

Where is the video of the knockout.

MTL? 10? Really? That's going to give some ammo to NSH in the PK debate.

Edit:

Can we trade for this Domi kid to take Nolan's enforcer role over?

How so? Weber was on the ice for 0 goals against I'm that game with 25 min.

His stats this yr vs PK, Weber by a mile not even close.

Preds are LAST in their division and there is direct line to that and Weber leaving. Weber is the better all around d and much much better in his own end. Among other thing,s more feared by opponents going into the Nashville end and he kept the Front porch empty.
Now, pretty much anybody can camp out in front of Rinne.
Losing Weber, they lost their leader. He's a great leader, respected by teammates. PK couldn't wear Weber's skate laces in that dept. Lacks leadership where it counts which was evident last year and already this year.
PK being PK, all about the flash, not about the game. Still doesn't recognize there is no I in TEAM.

Montreal's problem is their coach, not Weber . and PK would not have been a +/- of zero in that debacle.

Weber makes the Habs a contender, lack of Weber takes the Preds out of that range.

So Martin Jones after tonight's game, might be sporting a sub .900SV%

People still in love with this guy ?

Depends on the people's view of goaltending. This person likes him a lot, and I think he'll be an elite goalie when he's got more experience. He's 110 games in his career, only 1 full year and IMO, most goalies need 3 yrs as a starter, facing every challenge, down in the game, leading a game, OT, etc. For me, the 200 game or so mark, 3 yrs of a starter, that's when the seasoning begins.

I think it's hilarious that so many Kings fans feel the need to mudsling the guy every time he loses.

He's a young goalie , technically sound, plays the crease well and doesn't panic under pressure. He's got all the tools in his bag, just needs to learn to use them, which comes with experience.
But he needs a lot more minutes to grow his game. At least 2 yrs worth.

currently it's .918 SV%

and JOnathan Quick at the same marker, 110 game had .907 SV%

Did you bash him too at that time?

Slow down there. MTL is a contender? You had a really good argument going.

Quick in his young career , before we knew what he was ?

You bet I did.

Herby and Myself, wanted Lombardi fired before 2012(the roster was terrible). Quick looked like any other sub par Goalie(just like an athletic one), until 2010-11, then in 2012 he had a career year.

So far, Martin Jones looks like an Average, run of the mill Goalie.

I'd also argue there's a BIG difference in their teams/situations and no one was writing Quick in as the second coming, reminded me of the outrage when Bernier skipped town. Quick was still pretty much exceeding expectations on a crappy Kings team while Jones was merely floating along on a great-to-elite team until the finals when he played really well...He's better than he's showing now for sure but people pumping his tires like we let Carey Price go need to chill now. He's literally one of their big weaknesses at the moment (and arguably was in the first few rounds of the playoffs).

Funny to see Sharks fans NOW use the line "Well he's not seeing that many shots" though

I have no hate for the guy, I really like Jones and I knew he'd be a good to great NHL starter, but the amount of times it got crammed down our throats that we let go a top five goalie or something...no thanks. I like reality slapping that down.

Hard to argue with their 9-1 or whatever it is record.

Well they did start 9-0 last year.

It all depends on how durable Price is, really. If he misses any significant time at all they aren't a playoff team. They are bottom half in offense and defense, IMO.

He is getting shredded, you can call it what it is.

Nobody holds back when it happens to Quick.

It's not even like the Kings let Jones go. Thy had too, they couldn't afford him, and Jones wanted to be a starter.

Also Lombardi did what your suppose too, trade the guy to an East team.

Always the most important part of the Jones equation. Even if the Kings could've afforded him, he wasn't going to sign. He could've signed for $3m with the Sharks, and the Kings would've gotten one 2nd round pick as compensation. The Sharks could've just waited until July 1st, the Kings weren't getting the same 1st round pick Boston did. He had little value by the time they traded him. What his value was within the Lucic deal, who knows for sure. He might've gotten Lombardi an additional 15 or 25% retention by the Bruins.

To play devils advocate about the last sentence, all the factors that applied to la applied to boston. Lombardi had to know boston was going to turn around and deal jones. He might not of known for sure it was sj, but based on the market at time they were one of top 3 most likely.

Vegas management group, in town for 5 Nations, back at JLA to scout. Will get a look at Jimmy Howard in goal. May very well be their goalie.

I should have prefaced that with "if Price and Weber'' are healthy, yes Montreal is a contender.
I don't undervalue what a true leader is capable of, esp in a playoff run. And if the Habs are still a frontrunner and playing well in Feb, if their GM has any sense, he'll do what he feel necessary to add depth.

Bottom line is goaltending Is the most important factor in a playoff run. Price is the best goalie in the business right now. You put a healthy Weber in front of him, and there isn't any reason to believe they won't be in the ECF or SCF.

I've seen Lundqvist carry a team when he gets hot and they have surprised me this year, didn't expect Vessey to be as good or the team to be playing as strong. but they don't anybody ike Weber. but if they keep scoring, that might be an interesting ECF.
Caps? not as good as last year, out if the 1sr rount, Pens? , don't see them getting deep and muich as I like the BOlts, they are not consistent this year.

Long way to go, of course, but so far, to me, Price and Weber can be steering that helm

I swear, the NHL Network is becoming the home of the Red Wing. It seems like it's wall to wall coverage every damn night.

They started really well last year too! How'd that end? Oh yeah with everyone learning that team is 100% Price. Is price good enough to win a cup on his own? How's Hank done with that?

Edit: Do the hockey forums seem a little more stressed/Tubro then normal to anyone else? It just seems like there are more posters on edge right now. I'm starting to wonder if there's some external factor causing people to be stressed out right now?

Think it's likely the election.
When it's like that South Park episode and you have a giant ****** and a turd sandwich to choose from. It can cause issues.

And no don't turn this into a political discussion.

I totally forgot about the election. :naughty:

So should we start the #NeverKarlsson in the Weber for Norris thread?

Edit: Logging off before I get myself into trouble.

For me its the stupid full page ad that you get on HF now when surfing in mobile. No matter how hard you try to hit the X, just clicks the adds. After 5 tries I just call it a day.

Are you trying to view on the desktop site from mobile?
Since I know the mobile version is supposed to be ad free.

Isles did not make a single contract offer to Okposo and now the coach publicly bemoans loss of free agents. Fix the dysfunction.

Couldn't agree more. Over the years, a lot of bad thought process/decision making by that ownership group and GM

Ladd is older and although I like him, he's not the talent that Okposo is , and KO had great chemistry with Tavares. Not to even attempt to sign? Just another head scratcher.
Ladd's 1 pt so far, not exactly cutting it on team that needs wins. They could use the 5 goals and 8 pts Okposo has currently.
