HARDLY a problem? Luongos contract, Tortorella, not allowing Swedish aquisitions, demanding the team change from skill to a Bruins team. And that's only the ones we know of.
Ultimately it's his team and that's fine. But he's a horrible owner. Sure he's paying the bills while increasing the ticket prices year after year only to have to now re adjust them because they can't even give tickets away.
there's also the floated rumor of the csnucks being for sale but not the arena and it's clear how much he cares.
I'd be glad if he lost a ton of cash the next few seasons
It was in one of the provies. I'd have to go back and look.Don't remember this; do you have a source for it?

If he doesn't allow Swedish players....what are the Sedins, Edler, Markstrom and all them about?

I guess you could argue that he instituted such policy after Benning, hence the trading of Lack and Forsling (and maybe Markstrom and Edler this year,) but it's still the first I've heard of it.

According to Forbes magazine, the Canucks now hold a value of US$800-million, representing a 14 per cent increase in valuation over one year. It also attained the league’s fifth highest operating income of US$46.7-million and the sixth highest revenues of $154-million.
Also lets go ask Ottawa fans what having a guy like Melnyk is like. Or a guy like Wang that moved their team from a building that had literally fallen apart, to a building where a third of the fans CANT SEE the game. Like I said, you need to think of a bigger picture than on ice moves when it comes to an owner.
Man oh man.
People keep doubting the Preds yet they keep climbing back.
Won't be surprise if they make the SCF this year.
The team isn't going anywhere who gives a **** how much he loses. And right now he is losing money, probably not in cash but in franchise value. I wouldn't be surprised if Lindenning have knocked a $50m-100m of the value of the franchise Gillis left to them. That's gotta sting. Also lets go ask Ottawa fans what having a guy like Melnyk is like. Yeaaaaah he's really screwed. . Bet he's sweating bullets. He isn't going to lose a cent as long as he keeps putting money into the team. He's willing to drop big money on players. He's willing to drop big money into the arena and the team. He can stay.
Also what kind of fan says that he wishes the owner...therefor the team....lose a bunch of money?

Lindenning....original.
Wow, great point!
Nevermind that he is completely correct. As of November 2015 it is down 55 to 745M per Forbes.
Yea losing has a tendency to do that. But with some of the prospects we have lined up, that'll go back up.
I'd blame Linden for Benning.Yeah, people need to stop using Aquilini as an excuse for Benning.
Like who?
We have good prospects but no one elite. No guy you build your team around. We are still middle of the pack prospect wise.
*NOBODY* in the general public will buy a ticket just to see a goalie.Boeser and Demko
