Nashville has travelled 21 thousand km this playoffs. Cant help but think johansen doesnt like that.

In 2 years which teams need a 1c?

Its happening book it.

So he would rather be golfing than playing playoff hockey??

if he's worried about travelling a lot...why the hell would he sign here of all places? he could sign in the east and save himself a lot of travel.

I dont like the Sharks and him the most cause of there incredible diving

That bin said they beat there devil the kings this year and are playing great hockey so im hoping for them against the Preds who i cant understand how anyone can choose for them

I think Bowie is suggesting he ain't sign with Vancouver that's the only logical conclusion. Must want to go to NYR or the devils. Both of those need a 1C.

Based on what?

Ryan johansen what an overrated player.

Slow, low intensity.

Whenever I watch Johansen I get the impression that he doesn't really give a ****.

His conditioning is poor. He was never a burner, but he does have 1C level talent.

It's up to him to condition himself to be able to play the game at a harder pace.

If his conditioning is poor now....what happens when he has a large bank account? If he's not going to put in the work at a young age he's likely going to be an enigma for the life of his career.

Makes you appreciate the Sedins and even Bo for the work they put in in improving themselves.

They said the same thing about Thornton early on in his career. As the years go by, some players have that switch go off, and others don't. Right now, Thornton is much better conditioned from when he entered the league. I do not see it as a given that Johansen's conditioning will only get worse from here on out.

like any player he has a lot of friends back home. I personally think and am not allowed to speculate much on the fact that matters to him, but there is the that the fact he owns a home in burnaby (Don Taylor). That the # of players he still knows from Minor or Jnr is really high, and that his teammate from Jnr Sven Baertschi has a long term plan here.

This doesn't matter at all if Johansen has been anything but compliant with contracts or his previous team. He left Ohio as a very high profile player you rarely see trades like this, and it coincides with a theory he always wanted to come home. Did the connections mean something to him he established in CBJ? Or is it all just the plan to end up home without killing his chance to play and earn a real contract when the time is right.

He even took a fighting unsportsmanlike for dropping his gloves tonight, Benning likely lauded at a replay.

Vancouver doesn't have great travel no, but it does in the playoffs compared to Stl, Dal, Chi or Nsh. I can't really argue with Ny or NJ paying him to be a 1c if my original travel point matters to that extent. But who would want to live there compared to Vancouver as a multi millionaire, when taxes are offset by the Candian dollar exchange rate. NY taxes arn't fun, and New Jersey is New Jersey

Nothing to do with the Canucks, but just live his life in his hometown

I grew up in Pitt Meadows and when I think of Port Moody, star player playing in Portland, and then you get drafted to Ohio and Nashville, with previous contract issues, and Vancouver having 10-20 million when he needs a contract and room for a 1c.

It's a stretch but I see his twitter always retweet his minor team or the port moody fire fighters. And he is home all year round, even missing training camp last year playing for the Vancouver giants.

Why not give reasons he would want to play for Nashville if there's at all an inclination a franchise player leaving CBJ isn't at all a little sign of smoke. We're his home team and need a 1c, Let's dream.

Hard worker, fearless and plays a clean game.

His diving antics (always flopping and drawing the call when in front of the net) infuriated me, but this year he's cut way down on that and I'm now able to appreciate his all around great game.

The Preds have a really solid team and yet they're being schooled by the Sharks.

get the same feeling when I watch Ryan Nugent Hopkins.

These are not the type of guys you build a team around.

Not at all. RNH is not like that one bit. His body might not permit him to play healthy much, but he's a competitive player that is completely invested in helping his team win. There's nothing about his game that you'd classify as apathetic.

Guy Boucher back in the NHL, should be interesting for Ottawa.

Goddamnit. Boucher back in the NHL and we're still hitching our wagon to Willie D.

Why the **** do our owners, who have been fairly reactionary the last number of years, now decide to sit on their hands after we've assembled quite possibly the worst management team in our entire NHL history?

My prediction is Gulutzan takes over for Willie mid-season next year and by default there will be an improvement.

I have mixed thoughts on Boucher I do prefer him to Desjardins.

I have a couple buddies that know Johansen a little bit through hockey. They all say he is one of the laziest players they know and could care less about conditioning. Only thing that keeps him going is the money.
