The Preds should set up an #askNeal over this incident. Imagine the questions this time around.

I can't pick a favorite between "if you owned a bar, how cheap would your shots be?" and the one about dropping a baby.

Didn't the Kings twitter also use that hashtag a couple times during the game the Kings were playing while it was going on?
 
man i wish the sharks would have lost last night. with the slide the kings are on hard to believe but we would be tied with them with the same amount of games played

I read it -- you said nothing about those being bad markets, you just assumed that those were the two markets that would be part of the westward shift. I was telling you that calling those "big hang-ups" in the west happening is misinformed, because those two markets were never part of the bigger plan, just speculation by newspaper writers who aren't familiar with the minor league landscape.

As things have developed, the current theories have Edmonton moving their AHL team to Bakersfield (folding or moving the existing ECHL team), Los Angeles moving the Monarchs to Ontario (folding or moving the ECHL Reign), San Jose moving the W-Sharks somewhere (currently unknown, much speculation about Fresno or potentially sharing the SAP center), Calgary moving the baby Flames from Adirondack to Stockton (a recent article said the Flames will shortly announce that they've purchased the existing Stockton ECHL team, allowing them to fold or move them out of the way), and PERHAPS the Ducks buying some other existing AHL franchise and moving them to San Diego.

Nothing there has any "hang-up" about Denver or Prescott Valley.

There's a lot of smoke. I'm still not saying "definite fire", but the stuff that's coming out a bit at a time seems to have more weight than the usual echo chamber of speculation that has surrounded this topic for years.

We tried to #AskNeal after the game but he had already left the locker room.
 
Flyers lose Mason to Injury in practice, couldn't leave on his own. He was one of the few players that actually showed up every game and a leader in the room, very vocal post game, direct on what the issues were, doesn't mince his words.

The Flyers have too many holes and that isn't one that is high on the list. If they were closer to a playoff spot, they might have done something to get a goalie, but I don't see that. However long he's out, Emery will have to go to distance And not to fear, they have Rob Zepp on the way to back up Emery.

As for tanking it, Big Ed doesn't roll that way ,sad to say. Two years ago when they missed the playoffs, they were numerically eliminating after a losing streak and once they were out of it, (at that point they would have had the number 7 pick overall) Ed gave them a peptalk in the room and they went on a 7 game winning streak and dropped to number 11.

Dishonor for Conner is not likely.

He was having a great season. Really feel bad for the guy. I hope long term he's ok. Sounds really bad.
 
The Sharks were not going to stay bad forever, they are a potent regular season team.

They were going to get on a streak sooner or later.

Gordie Howe's amazing recovery after surgery.

As some of you might have read over the past few months, Gordie Howe's health has been faiing and he's had stroke like episodes. Well it turns out his family sought out specialists (Dr Maynard Howe and his brothers, no relation) who did a stem cell transplant on him.

At the time we were contacted, Mr. Hockey had been rapidly declining and was essentially bedridden with little ability to communicate or to eat on his own.

By the end of Day 1 he was walking with minimal help for the first time since his troke
By day 2 he was able to converse with his family and the staff. Day 3 he walked to the seat on the plane on his own.

By Day 5 he was walking unaided and taking part in helping out with daily household chores. When tested, his ability to name items has gone from less than 25% before the procedure to 85% today

That's great, what a wonderful gift for his family, one of the true special hockey families of all time. Mark Howe is my favorite Flyers Defenemen and on of my favorite all time players , a career +400...and as a FLyer was +85 one year. One of the smartest and toughest 2 way defensemen I've ever seen. Loved his game. And a real class act, he got that from his parents, and what an example his father set.

Anyway, great news for them...best of luck Gordie
