A flyers fan called me biased and said that Steve mason has just as much of an upside as Jonathan bernier *bangs head against wall*

As a Flyer fan who lives in Philly and been a fan for over 40 years, there are those PHantics that will not ever criticize a Snider move and seem to be under a Svengali hold.
You ask that fan if he's sipping Kool Aid wearing orange tinted glasses in a lawn chair on Broad Street waiting for a parade that won't happen

I read that trade online at work and just laughed. Having seen Mason play this year and last, he's average on a good night. And let's in far too man ygoals playing behind a good defensive team in CBJ . I dn't want to think what will happen when he has to play behind the Swiss Cheese D Corp.

Typical Homer move. Trade away avery good young goalie with all the promise in the world in Bob to Columbus and then have to trade a pick away to get back their retread. It never ends, the Nightmare of the Lving Goalie Dead movie over and over and over....

When they passed on Bishop yesterday I was hoping that meant they'd trade For Bernier, but no. why do the right thing , get the best out there when you can have Steve Mason....

I really hope that next year in the playoffs ,when CBJ are in the Flyers conf. Bob shuts them out in 4 games.
SO pissed still that Ed gave up on him for Bryz...

And that's the problem with the Flyers. Snider has his hands in too many hockey decisions. Holmgren is just a puppet. Look what happened when Uncle Phil and Timmy gave Dean full reigns of the hockey decisions. He built a Cup winning team. Until Snider steps back and lets the hockey people make hockey decisions, they'll always be mediocre with the occasional Cinderella run.

Funny thing is that he's one of the few I know that actually gives Snider crap for his moves. The problem is if he doesn't believe that it's wrong, then it can't be a bad move. I said it was a mistake signing Bryz to that contract and he thought it was a good idea. I can throw up stats and past moves and it does not matter.

Although most of the time I can't even carry a conversation with a Flyers fan without them sticking their fingers in their ears and yelling 'you're not a Flyers fan, you can't make comments about my team.'

Now they think they are going to be the LA Kings this year and make 8th and win the cup. You know, despite Bryz being garbage, their team in shatters from injury, and no defensive system whatsoever.

This is part of the reason why I don't find the East that impressive though. If the Flyers can win four straight against 3 top 5 conference teams, it's pretty sad.

Like I said in the first place, I'll believe the Flyers are out when we get to the end of the season and they're out. Too much talent on that team.

Gaborik gives the lead to Jackets with 15 min to go against Preds.

Really hope Columbus manages to go on a run and make it in. They deserve it. Love seeing Gabby score in his first game. Would love to see them slot in 8th and pull a huge upset off on CHI :D

Man, has anyone else looked at the possible first-round WC playoff matchups and been salivating a little at the prospects? If the playoffs were to begin today, on the strength of points percentage, we would have:

#1 Chicago v. #8 Detroit (Talk about an O6 rivalry going out in style!)
#2 Anaheim v #7 St. Louis (meh, either way one of them would be eliminated, hopefully they'd beat each other up a lot)
#3 Vancouver v #6 Minnesota (A divisional rivalry going away after this season, an all-Northwest matchup, and the traditional "power" of the division against the rising upstarts with all the trade deals -- storylines galore!)

and of course:

#4 San Jose v. #5 Los Angeles - a rematch of 2011

Think these are some pairings that might make the WCQFs a little exciting? :)

Random but on the show Disorder in Court on Tru TV they are showing the canucks riot. Still makes Me laugh lol.

this is to funny to not share. nice job anaheim....lol

This would be second emergency backup goalie crisis for Ducks. They signed Zach Sikich to a 1-day contract in Minny. He took warmups, sat

is taking warmups as Ducks' backup goalie. Hiller became ill Friday morning, couldn't back up Fasth. Laurie signed 1-day pro tryout.

Igor Bobkov was called up from Norfolk. Was scheduled to land in Orange County a little while ago but not in time to make warmups.

that mess with ANH goalies to me is the tip of the iceberg. with the money they committed to Baldy and Perry makes me wonder how well they will round out their roster. Hiller is UFA after next season and this shows they are already a bit light on goalies in the system. take Hiller out of the equation and they are now even thinner in net.

They have a kid on the farm doing great, but their affiliate is all the way in Virginia (and I think they want him to keep playing there). Anaheim's prospects are as good or better than ours, their D prospect pool is especially stacked and all those guys will be on ELC's.
