That reminds me of the goal Petro scored vs. the Kings in Game 1 in 2012. How does that puck get through that mass of humanity?

Reaves line out in final minute after scoring a goal. Are you calling the lines in Vegas @BigKing ?

Talk about hanging on for dear life. But give Montreal credit, their best player was their best player and they got goals from 3 different lines.

Two best of 5 series with Montreal and the Isles having home ice. The Islanders will have a loaded and loud building and the Habs, well for some reason they won't, which will be an interesting discussion I'm sure.

When Vegas doesn't play a full 60 minutes, this is the result sometimes.
Seems like theyve been doing that a lot this season. Almost like its by design.
Mellow first period.
Heavy physical dump and chase in the second wearing down the other team on the long change and capitalizing on mistakes.
Then if they are down at the end of the second period and rest of the third they send that cherry picker for breakaways and odd man rushes. Also have their defense play pretty aggressive in the offensive zone.

It kind of makes you feel old realizing that TT is now playing the veteran older guy role with the Habs two young studs. It feels like just yesterday he was the young stud along with Pearson, and Carter was playing the role TT is now.

Circle of life in the NHL comes at you fast.

Happy for TT though, much like Carter in 2014 he seems to be really embracing that role and having a hell of a playoffs doing it. I think TT was just completely burned out in LA.

Good for them, they ridiculously can't do that in their home city so might as well party like crazy somewhere they can. Their team came to Vegas and did what they needed and got the split.

It would be awesome if them or the Isles win it all and get to experience what the Kings did in 2012, out of nowhere runs are great in sports. When the Kings won in 2012 it was after the Giants had won the SB as a 9-7 wildcard team and the Cardinals came from a bunch of games back in September to win the wildcard and then the WS.

Also Shea Weber and Carey Price are as deserving as anyone of getting that elusive first cup.

The two most obnoxious visiting fanbases at Staples all piled into the same city. What a sight to behold.

I’ve been to some games with lots of Habs fans in town, but I think the less pleasant experience were the shitty Canucks fans who were so f***ing arrogant. We even had a few of those visitors on these boards, that is until 2012. Funny how they disappeared after that.

I hate the Knights mostly because of their fans but I wish the Kings were like this. It's much more fun being hated then it is to be never even thought about like the Kings are now.

Yup, for three or four seasons the Kings were one of the most hated teams in the NHL.

Looks like MTL is finally getting a taste of Vegas reffing, heh. Least penalized team in the playoffs by a LARGE amount...total gentlemen...

Imagine if the league called the same penalties like in the other series. Vegas would be in the box half the game. The Isles interference call was borderline, but still a penalty, but we've all seen how things get called in the playoffs .

But it wasn't due to our entitled , chest thumping fanbase who act like they've won something. Throw in the yearly questionable calls, and special treatment by the league and there you have it. We were hated because we were winning and our style of play, which is a different thing all together.

Anyone hoping for a Mtl vs NYI finals, who isn’t a hometown fan, must have no true appetite for creative hockey plays and love will over skill. If that’s the final, I may not watch a game unless it goes 5-7 matches deep.

Canucks fans have always been my worst experience. Shitcago fans runner up.

Speak for yourself! :)

Drinks on me for the board next time I'm in LA for a game if that is the final.

A second round if Montreal wins it all.

I think NYI would have won if it had been 1-1 after 2. The wind just left the sails when Point scored so quickly after they tied it.
