An image of humanity: Behind the viral picture of the Jets’ Nikolaj Ehlers protecting the Canadiens’ Jake Evans

It's definitely not personal. The only thing I ask is if you can explain to me why it is charging and illegal, I'd like for someone to explain to you how to embed a Tweet properly because I don't need Scheifele's head to be taking up five inches of my computer screen :thumbu:
The reason I think it's charging was exactly the way DOPS explained it. Scheifele bolted over 160ft and didn't slow down while trying line up Evans for a hit .Scheifele never tried to make a play on the puck or to avoid him or slow down his rate of speed when hitting Evans.Puck was already in the net before Scheifele made the hit.For the one screenshot I didn't take it and borrowed it off HFBoards for your viewing pleasure...:naughty:

Since it was an icing play, was Scheifele supposed to skate slow? I don't think it's as black and white as him rushing up the ice out of the play.

And the puck in the net doesn't mean anything, Scheifele was a few feet away traveling at speed when the puck left his stick.

I'm OK with the suspension, although I probably would have game him 2 games.

Honest question: Do you think Brown should have been suspended for the hit on Sedin in the 2012 playoffs?

See, I don't think this is a bad thing. It's the essence of charging, isn't it? It just may be difficult to define exactly how fast is too fast, etc., but that's why we have rules, refs, and reviews.

Scheifele was backchecking as fast as he could while an imminent empty net goal was threatening to ice the game.

If you think he skated across half the rink just to blow up a player, we'll have to disagree.

If you think it would have been a better idea for him to lean forward with a poke check, lowering HIS head into Evans' torso, or chance slipping and going head first into the boards, we'll have to disagree.

The NHL replied to the outcry. Which is ironic considering they looked the other way with Wilson's BS antics.

Is it just me or is that guy making a hard right directly into Kucherov's path while looking the complete opposite direction?

Yeah that isn't interference from the replay. He wasn't engaged with someone else, he just turns right into Kucherov. Maybe you could make the argument that Kucherov saw him and didn't make an effort to avoid the hit? His arm doesn't come out or anything, and it looked like the Carolina guy initiated all the contact.

Yeah, I tend to agree. I like the way the Evans kid played a lot in the Toronto series, but I think he got caught admiring the puck going in the back of the net.

The hit wasn't late, and I think Evans would have had a chance to defend himself better if he was more aware.

Kucherov getting pissy and taking advantage of a defenseless opponent?

Eventually everyone else will get it too, his incidents look a lot like Brad Marchand's.

Scheifele committed a clear charge. He skated at a high rate of speed for over 160ft and never made the attempt to play the puck or slow down.He also hit Evans after the punk was in the net.I think it deserved suspension for the entire series, but 4 games is ok as well..No the Browns hit was legal and they were not alike...

Brown started skating from behind the goal line, didn't slow down and hit Sedin at the far blue line when Sedin didn't expect it. If distance traveled and violent hit defines charging, then Brown's hit on Sedin is charging under the new interpretation of the rule.
