Of all the small market teams, Columbus is the worst city to live in if you’re a millionaire. No major airport, the metro population is barely 2 million people. Unless you’re a person who loves a rural lifestyle there are 31 other cities which blow it away. And the state university is the only industry to speak of, so it’s not like there is any base of money to attract high end businesses.

I'd rather live in Columbus than Edmonton or Winnipeg. Vancouver is the only Canadian city I'd actually want to live in.

I live in Los Angeles proper and I don’t see any trash or human shit on my street or any street nearby. Maybe you guys should stop going to skid row and expecting 5 stars?

I always wondered why they have a professional HOCKEY team in OHIO of all places. Is hockey even that popular in that state? I know Ohio State has a hockey team but maybe the Jackets need to relocate to Quebec. I bet they would die to have the Nordiques back just like the Jets and Winnipeg.
I have a lot of family from Cleveland and they all play hockey.

The goalie on the Canes is from Parma, OH, my moms hometown.

Not saying it's Montreal but yes, it's a big sport there.

Sell both Jones and Werenski. Pick up a treasure trove of assets. Sell Laine...get a smaller amount of assets. Manage to secure Wright next year. Could really be a quick turnaround.

Should have fired Torts a year ago. But isn’t that the same with most coaches? ‘Should have been fired a year ago’.

Coaches, trades, etc, they're all the same. You want to do it a year too early rather than a year too late. The only problem with that wonderful philosophy is that it's rarely easy to know when a year too early is. You're usually still being competitive in that too early year, and being competitive is too hard just to say screw it.

It's got nothing to do with fan support. That building is rocking when the Jackets have been good.

Speaking of Landeskog... :sarcasm: 2-0 now.

Have to love seeing the Avs take it to Vegas this early in the 1st period of game 1.

Sorry not sorry, Marty. And no tacos for you.

Colorado looks like the Yzerman Red Wings where they didn't miss the playoffs for a million years it seems. Just load up with young players year after year. Landeskog, then MacKinnon then Rantanan then Makar then Byram then Newhook etc. etc. Long way to go in this game but they are so much fun to watch.

Seems like having a team chock full of talented, young players is a good thing.
Who says otherwise? By the way:

Landeskog was drafted 10 years ago
Mackinnon was drafted 8 years ago
Rantanen 6 years ago
Makar 4 years ago

“young”

All our best prospects are Makar or younger. Almost seems like it takes time to build a good team.

That’s my point, Avs hung onto their picks and got rid of players like Duchene to get better in other areas.

They also have the 8th youngest team in the league, and six of their regulars in the lineup are 24 or younger, and they only have three players on the roster who are in their 30s.
