The Pathetic Division sucks. Here is an interesting quote from the Sharks board after today's game.

Can't wait to miss the playoffs, win the draft lottery, watch Karlsson walk, watch Joe Thornton's retirement press conference in about 2 months, and watch the Kings lift the cup in June.

I don't think he needs to be worried about the last one.

Karlsson -3? Seems about right

I have SJ winning the division and yet again they put on 35 shots and didn't score. I didn't see the game to see quality but I have to assume they're gonna break thru soon

WHO on SJ do you think is going to break thru? Just curious because I don't see the same team as you obviously.

Thornton is gone
Pavelski is losing a step
Couture is their main scorer now
Kane is a sniper, absolutely,

Other than that, who is stepping up, or breaking thru?

I agree that Thornton and Pavelski are toast. Even Vlasic is starting to regress a bit.

Hertl is inconsistent but is showing signs of being not only a top-line player but a top-flight C.
Meier is a bag of shit but he's coming along into being a gritty forward.
Their third line of Suomela-Kane-Donskoi is a matchup nightmare even though I think Donskoi is overrated.
No one wants to put that team on the PP.
Labanc is a real good skill player that boosts offense if nothing else.

Maybe I'm wrong about them winning the division but no one is going to hold Burns and EK off the scoresheet forever and I mean breakthru more in the sense that they're not going to be shooting such a low percentage all year.

Lol are you guys seriously judging the Sharks after a measly few games? They have three Norris caliber defensemen on the team, two of whom are the best offensive defensemen in the world. They will get things going and dominate the Pacific.

Forgot about Hertl,

But everyone else, you can sub Pearson in for Suomela or Donskoi, same thing, Kempe in for Meier etc, Meier, 3rd line and Leblanc is essentially the same as the Kings, maybe a bit faster, but other than that, no major differences,

Agree they won't shoot at a low percentage all year, but making them out to be contenders is a bit much

I agree, but they also have an actual head coach instead of a meme machine. :naughty:

Columbus Day, which as I recall tends to be more observed in the east coast than over here.

Yeah I just found that out. I guess I really am a West Coaster lol. I mean I know this day exists but I never really cared for it. Just read that LA is one of the cities that has replaced it with Indigenous Peoples Day. Seems like a liberal thing.

Well seeing as how Columbus never actually set foot in North America...

Yes, which is why the real reason is Canadian Thanksgiving. Given that this is hockey we're talking about. kinda makes sense.
Doesn't make sense for day games in the U.S. between Vegas and Buffalo, and San Jose and NY Islanders. It had to be for Columbus Day.

And we thought having Quick + Brown out was bad... or Sharks w/ Thornton out...

Baldy
Perry
Kesler
Ritchie (holdout)
Eaves
Kase

Of course they are...is that any different than all the gloom and doom over the Kings after two games despite earning 3 out of 4 points?
