If we hire that guy from the Oilers our duo could amazingly be just as bad as theirs. Hayward and Fox are equally bad, with Hazy constantly complaining about the refs and Fox being a cheerleader.

It's going to be awful not having Bob anymore.

Shouldn't surprise anybody, this is their pedigree every run, great reg season numbers, media talking heads frothing at the mouth spitting out platitudes about 4 lines deep, best team in the league, added Shatty, scoring no problem, couldn't believe how many of them , who've all seen this movie before, picked them again to win the cup.

I had them beating the Leafs in 7, mostly due to rookie campaign first year in the playoffs, esp with a ton of rookies. But had them out in round 2. Love Ovie, but as long as he's wearing that C and on that team, they won't go anywhere. Leadership remains an issue there and has been every spring for years Their GM said last year when they lost if they didn't win it all next year, there would be major changes. THey had a 3-1 lead and a full 2 min 5-3 followed by another PP and did zippo. Took their foot off the gas and coasted, let the Leafs take the momentum away. That's what the Caps do, and have done. Just don't get the job done.

as for the Leafs, figured the first 10 min would be hard, pressure cooker of a town starving for a Cup run, opening night jitters . But they weathered the storm, over came a 2 goal deficit and skated well pretty much the whole game. Babs has all 4 lines pumping hard, as he's done all year.

Key point in the comeback, Kadri's 2 HUGE hits prior to the first LEafs goal by Matthews that made it 2-1. That fired up the team and the crowd and they put the jets on their skates. He's really turned his game around, what a difference a coach can make. He won't get any consideration for the Selke but he should. He's had that job all year, standing down top lines and does it well. He's really become a top 2 way elite player. And I love the fir
e in his shifts, leaders do that, they charge in and the rest follow.

Yup, playing with house money, no expectations and playing loose. Props to Babcock and well he's got them prepared, hard enough with a couple rookies, he's got a boatload.




Great entertainment. Enjoying this and the Oilers run. Leafs will add top D this summer and wlll be a dangerous team nest year, challenge for the division. Somehow in the near future, they will play the Oilers in the Cup finals.

Hayward is such a little baby, it's hilarious to listen to him ***** about everything. No wonder why that fanbase is so insufferable.
 
I wonder how many years in a row I'm going to be right about Brian Elliott turning into a pumpkin after 40 games.
