Budaj signs a 2 year deal with Tampa. 1M per year.

Not that long ago he was playing in the minors making 100K/year. Now he's got a 7 figure salary in the NHL. Good for him.

Good for Budaj. After Quick went down he was really in a lose/lose situation, but he did quite well, considering (the impossible task).

give up a goal - it's gonna be tough to win the game
give up two goals - it's pretty much over.

He didn't steal a lot of games (if any), but he rarely was the sole fault in a loss.

If you don't score, you're not gonna win.

I admired his effort most of the season , but man, all those games giving up the first goal just gutted the team towards the end.

Off-Season Watch: Vegas to talk with Leafs

McPhee told reporters on Tuesday the team has "at least" six trades lined up, with more discussions to come including with Leafs general manager Lou Lamoriello.

Looks like McPhee is coming off his deadline of yesterday to conclude deals and circling back to some teams one last time.

He said to another reporter that there were 6 GM's that had conflicts yesterday and he's willing to talk with them.

Based on some of the rumblings and potential side deals, I gave the TSN simulator a whirl and did a Vegas mock draft.

I still think Minny finds a way to sway Vegas from not taking Dumba. Also, heard yesterday, may have been one of the TSN guys, mention Lack to Vegas in the expansion draft as part of a side deal for pick(s).

Nashville has interesting options in Sissons, Aberg and Neal. It's a pretty tough call but I went with Neal.

Plucked Weal from Philly even though there is talk of an extension there.

I kept flip flopping between Schmidt and Grubauer as the Caps pick. I think they can go either way and be fine.

VGK say they have six trades in place. If we're speculating - emphasis on speculating - likely to be with ANA, CBJ, CHI, NYI, PIT, TB.

Bobby Mac's top 5, based on 10 scouting reports,

1. Nico -edged out Nolan Patrick 5 scouts had him #1 to 4 for Patrick
2. Patrick
3. Miro Heiskanen-defense
4.Cale Makar - defense (some scouts saying he's got the highest ceiling of any player in the draft)
5. Gabe Vilardi - center/Rwing ((love this kid...)

He said that the top 10 has a lot of really good centers and defenseman

And apparently Hossa's career maybe done according to Freidman

According to several sources, there is a legitimate possibility Hossa has played his final NHL game. (He could not be reached for comment. Neither could his agent, Ritch Winter. The Blackhawks declined to comment.) Apparently, he suffers from a serious allergic reaction to the equipment he wears.

The sources who confirmed the allergy stressed not to make fun of it, with one saying, “It’s only funny to anyone who’s never had it.†Details are sketchy, because no one would give full information, but the medication necessary to combat the allergy is potent enough that doctors wanted his blood tested every few weeks to make sure there were no major side effects.

That’s very serious stuff, and word is doctors worried about Hossa taking the medicine for extended periods of time.

Love those jerseys and love the logo. All current trends are garish and overwrought, yet they used restraint and made a clean kit. The colors are great too, very different. Big fan.

White gloves are meh, but at least it's different.

Can't wait for the inevitable thirds which will hopefully be gold (real gold, not yellow). A camo pattern would be great also.

Wow. Brutal. The addition of red completely kills the gold and gray.

And the white gloves!? Jesus. Should be gray and black with a highlight of gold.

Just way too many ****ing colors in there.

BLACK.
GRAY.
GOLD.
WHITE.
RED.

Clean as ****.
