Really happy for the Capitals. I wish I was still at school in Georgetown so that I could experience what that celebration is like.

A Kings vs. Capitals Stanley Cup Final sure would be something...

This was a really bizarre year. The Capitals were a worse team on paper than last year’s lineup, and here they are hoisting the Cup, beating a first year franchise in the finals, no less.

No LA, no Chicago, no Boston, no Pitt anywhere close.

Got 2004 vibes this year. The “great powers” are all sort of on a downturn. Makes for some interesting parity among the has beens and never was.

It was also Pittsburgh's weakest team the last couple years. Finally able to get past them and didn't have to play the Kings or Hawks from 2010-2015.

I always love when the parents get a chance to get recognized, such a special moment. All the long hours and sacrifices they make so they’re kid(s) can work toward realizing a dream.

The emotion just flows out. Cool to see.

The west is in a real crisis. The Jets look like they’re the real deal going forward, but who knows. In my mind, they’re a superior team to the Capitals, and yet Vegas had no trouble cruising past them.

Nashville is still good. Wild aren’t. Blues are a coin flip.

Sharks, Ducks, Kings, Hawks nowhere close.

Do the Oilers finally get it together? Calgary?

Going to be an interesting offseason for the west.

Pittsburgh still looks like the ultimate gatekeeper in the east, at the very least.

Really happy for cap fans that have suffered over the years, that franchise just couldn’t get over the hump until tonight. Congrats to them.

As for Vegas, great first year and historic. I don’t think Seattle will replicate it but Vegas will probably be the most successful first year franchise of our lifetimes. Where they go from here will be interesting, lot of guys will get raises and extensions. I think it’s clear they have to get Karlsson to fill the #1 D spot and get after Tavares to get a #1 center.

Those were the two biggest holes on the team despite it’s depth. It’ll be interesting to see if GMGM gets more aggressive this offseason. He’s been pretty lax in terms of giving up assets for players.

Like it always does, it comes down to goaltending. Helly was terrible for Winnipeg vs Vegas. Fleury was not good vs Washington. Rinne was awful the last two playoff losses. Well, I guess goaltending isn't the problem if you're the Kings lol

If/when Seattle gets a team, I think one takeaway the established clubs will have is to shy away from making side deals in order to not lose a certain player.

Don’t give the new kids on the block any additional assets, submit your list and let them take the one player of their choosing.

Look at that players/picks Vegas (Haula, Tuch, Smith, March, Theodore, Carrier, assets from CBJ to grab Karlsson, etc.) were able to acquire via side deals. It sure helped shape their club.

Glad to see another team and their fans who have waited so long win the Stanley Cup for the first time. We know what it feels like.

Just seeing their faces, you could see that same weight lifted off. The immeasurable joy combined with that overwhelming relief, no one can call them the team that couldn't get it done anymore.

Let’s just hope this doesn’t give the Sharks any ideas.

And every year every overpaid free agent will make GM's think twice about doing it the next summer.

Lars Eller and Smith-Pelly... Couple of third liners. Stoll and Williams not too long ago for the Kings. That's what's been missing for a few years.
