Happy for the Sabres, although I was hoping that Calgary would've won the lottery. It would've been extra embarrassing for them.

Dahlen and Eichel are nice pieces to build around.

I'm curious to see what Tavares does now that the Isles didn't get lucky in the draft. They actually got worse picks than expected. I think that was a part of it... seeing if the Isles could get Dahlin or a top 5 pick.

It's an adventure for San Jose every time Burns touches the puck in his own zone.

New way to win in overtime, damn cross ice passes. Crashing the net no longer gets it done.

Anyone but Couture, yuck...

I am glad to see so many of you rooting for the Sharks in this series as I was rooting for you against Vegas in the first round. The breed of hatred I have for them is a special breed and I definitely think our fan bases should come together to hate them more than one another. :)
I don't know about that. I was more than happy with the absolutely spanking you guys took in game 1. I'm also fine with the Knights losing game 2 so this undefeated nonsense can finally go away.

You can’t have em’ all. :P

What I’ve noticed with Vegas is that, the story makes you want to like them. But the more you actually watch them, the more that it’s very difficult not to root against them.

To be honest, I'm rooting for building collapse. But i'll agree that I despise the "oh my god don't hit us" rat game, and the gallant media games, and so on that just make Vegas Nashville Junior Varsity.

But for how relatively little that I hate the Sharks, I like the pasting that you got for nothing other than the "lol Kings are trash" narrative that suddenly came out before Game 1.

Tell @Bizz I said hi and that might be 14 years to win 5 Cups instead of 15.

I'm a Kings fan and my hatred for other teams has dwindled since the 2 Cups-but I'd like to see the Sharks win it all without Marleau and Thornton injured. Hockey karma.

I could care less who wins it now, the rest of the West can f*** right off.

Hey Buffalo, no more excuses now, you are getting a franchise defenseman to go with guys like Eichel and Risto, don’t piss it away.

Convienent that Carolina got 2nd overall with a new owner and nobody seemingly wanting the GM job due to them looking to have the new guy making peanuts for that position. They’re apparently have reached out to John Ferguson Jr. for an interview, that’s scraping the bottom of the barrel.

The Vegas hate here is a salt mine.

Can’t believe some of you knobs are actively cheering for the San Jose Sharks.

That should tell you how insufferably annoying Vegas is from an outsider's perspective.

Can't believe there are knob Kings fans who are actively cheering for the Golden Knights.

I’m cheering for the Sharks. They deserve it more than Vegas. I hate the stupid Cinderella hype with Vegas and their bandwagon fans that flooded Staples. I hope the Sharks put them in their place.

I guarantee that once this magic season is over, Vegas won’t even make the playoffs next year. They are just having one of those stars alighned moment.

That Burns contract is looking pretty bad.
Brent Burns signs 8-year contract with Sharks

San Jose defenseman reportedly gets $64 million through 2024-25

But, you just can't afford to not pay these guys ridiculous money hoping for a few years of great performance. What the hell, it's only for another 7 years.

Brent Burns is an offensive defenseman (plus he played forward) who averaged less than 30 points a season his first 10 seasons until he put up 60 points in a year, and is signed until he turns 40.

Drew Doughty is a two-way defenseman who has averaged 42 points a season in his first 10 seasons.

Kopitar is a Selke winning forward who averaged 68 points a season until he scored at his worst scoring rate in his career (during which he had a surgery) and his contract ends before he turns 37.

I mean, I can spend more time to point out more flaws in your argument, but using Brent Burns as evidence of why they should have traded Kopitar or why they shouldn't commit long term to Doughty will not end up a pretty argument.

I am not being critical of what the Kings may or may not do with Drew Doughty. The NHL is littered with these stupid contracts.

I am really hoping for the elimination of guaranteed contracts in the next CBA. It's refreshing to read stories from the NFL like Des Bryant being cut by the Cowboys. When a player is a major pain in the ass, and doesn't perform, the organization can just let him go just like any of our employers would behave if we stopped performing in our jobs.

Never happen. Better chance for shorter contracts before non-guaranteed, in my opinion.

They are like nuclear bombs: you wish they were never invented but it's too late.

Man, not sure what video review people were looking at, but the NBC feed clearly shows the puck over the goal line by a small fraction of an inch. Hornqvist saw it over the line, and he was right.
