Good for Dean if he does take the job. The Islanders would be the fortunate ones, great signing for them. Especially with some of the youth on that team. I just wonder how hands on president is, vs being GM. No doubt their GM would go to him for guidance.

Well, when he sign on with LA, he wanted to be in total control or no deal.

Nashville dominating the shot department 31-9 halfway through the game but getting outscored 2-0. Both goals off the rush and rebounds.

Simple and effective.

I always harp on the Kings when they don't generate those second and third chances, a good majority of goals aren't from clean shots that beat the goalie, it's through tips, redirects, deflection, and rebounds, which the Kings rarely ever generated in the first round this year.

It's a case of quality versus quantity.

Can't be right, I mean, SD literally just said there is no such things as bounces, I mean, clearly NSH will sweep them, right, outshooting them what, 35 - 12 now, that's the true measure of how close a game is....right SD?

I said this earlier to you and I think we agreed, they didn't attack the net as often, so you won't get those 2nd/3rd shots if you don't do that, seemed like they were looking for either the tic tac toe play which is rarely there, or the screen, or the high tip,

Plenty of times they had the opportunity to shoot for a rebound, and buried it in the chest, or missed wide.

Be whatever you want, your argument is dismissing Kings ineffective offense, blaming their loss on bounces or the lack there of and had they played a longer series they would have gotten those bounces. Is that not it? You complain about 4 games being inconsequential as a sample size, yet you now say it's about bounces in one game.

I went to 3 of the 4 games. There wasn't much to do other than watch what unfolded in front of me. Other than the first period of game 4, Kings had nothing. And somehow this series loss is about bounces? Please.

Dude , even Gallant said they got the puck luck and bounces in the series. Brown had a chance to tie it in game 1 on the pp, a goal he's score 10 times this year, and the puck hops up on edge as he shoot it. It ends up going up and over the net. The Kings had ZERO luck or bounces in the series.

Ah yes, the Toffoli special.

LOL Toffoli, Kempe, Lewis, Reider, Pearson, Iafallo, I can keep going but I think you get the idea lol,

Irritates me to no end, coming down the wall with the puck, and they fire it high and wide, or into the chest, instead of 6-8 inches off the ice, far side, make the goalie make a save, leave a rebound, and you have one or two guys crash that net, if they want to be responsible defensively, the shooter, peels off after the shot to the high slot, but man, nothing kills a rush like high wide, or into the chest

Bounce here or there for the Kings could have extended the series with a game or two even. On the other hand Vegas had the majority of the scoring chances especially in the first two games and they didn't get that crazy puck luck either on the offensive side. That one bounce off the backboards would count I suppose.
Watching the Jets rout Nashville kinda reminds me of how Vegas dismantled the Kings.
Except it feels like the roles have been reversed in this one. Nashville going lights out with the possession and chances and Winnipeg keeps just dodging the bullets. It's been what, like 3 posts for the Preds already?

Interestingly I never said that, although I see how you could conveniently draw that conclusion. But yeah, keep at it. I’m sure the Kings luck will change all the way to the cup.

Agree with most of what you said but I don't remember the bolded. Who are you referring to? I mean, Toffolli, Carter and Pearson were MIA all 4 games but they weren't "out". :)

I've actually read that Vegas played the Penguins. They intended to take Fleury all along but made it look like they weren't going to take him forcing the Penguins to offer whatever pick(s) they ended up getting.

McPhee worked all these GMs and compounded some awesome deals. Look at Haula. We'll take Haula, but we want something for it. He then gets Tuch and a pick. Both Haula and Tuch have been major pieces - 44 goals and 92 points between those two this season.

Bellemare didn't practice today after getting cross checked by Kane last night. I bet Bellmare plays tomorrow... They did the exact same thing to the Kings.

Kane is dumb as rocks for that play. Having a great postseason, gets blown out, and then pulls that move. No brains whatsoever.

No doubt Gallant is playing mental games here, smart move by a very smart coach. I still have to laugh at Florida getting rid of him, typical bush league move from a team that's done shit-all.

Congrats McDavid, you scored a ton of points in garbage time on one of the worst defensive teams in the league. Doesn't impress me one bit. This kid has a long way to go before he's anywhere near the best player in the league.

Garbage time is the perfect way to describe it. The moment they're pretty much out of the playoffs he starts scoring like crazy and his teammates admit they're helping him get the scoring title. Couldn't find the dude on his side of the blueline. Color me unimpressed for "MVP."

I do think he's the most talented player in the league and his offense is undeniable...and it certainly takes a team effort, not just one dude throwing up massive points...but a clear stat-padding effort from a garbage team leaves him a long way from the most valuable player, especially THIS season, when at least 5 other guys had big claims on getting mediocre-to-good teams somewhere.

Go look at his splits in the final 2 months. 50 more minutes in icetime scored 31 points in losses.

U.S. roster for 2018 IIHF World Championship unveiled - Sportsnet.ca

Pretty stoked with our roster for this years tournament. The only non NHL'er is a potential top 5 pick who may have been the best player in college hockey after returning from WJC's.

Major props to Kane and Gaudreau, team USA wasn't able to get players like this to commit to this tourney in the past.

The Lightning radio crew is so awful. These guys are so bad it’s almost hard to believe it isn’t an elaborate prank, so awful.
