Just a tough day all around. :(

RCMP: Fatalities confirmed in Humboldt Broncos bus crash

No words can describe this tragedy. Heartbreaking.

Remembering our friend Jonathan Pitre

I only wish I could be as courageous as this kid. He battled everyday and never complained. He wanted to get out there and raise awareness about the condition he had and he did a tremendous job in doing so. Maybe you be in a happy place, Jonathan. A hero in my eyes.

Thoughts go out to his mom who was there every step of the way. Can’t imagine how difficult daily life must have been. What a brave and wonderful individual she is.

These types of things make you put life in perspective. Hold your loved ones a little longer today.

So if I understand this correctly if the Kings lose tomorrow we play Vegas, or if the Ducks win tomorrow in S/O or regulation we still play Vegas.

If the ducks lose tomorrow in ot or shootout and the Kings win tomorrow, we play the sharks.

If the Sharks win tomorrow , the Kings win tomorrow , and the ducks lose, we will play the Sharks.

If the Sharks, Ducks ,and Kings all win tomorrow. We will play Vegas.

If the Sharks lose tomorrow, and the Ducks and Kings win tomorrow. It's going to be Ducks vs Kings.

If the Sharks and Ducks both lose tomorrow and the Kings win... We get home ice vs Sharks.

So pretty much any loss by the Kings tomorrow is 100% Vegas. Gonna be a hell of a night keeping track on the socal teams Tomorrow.

I hate the ducks. So I want Sharks to lose tomorrow. And hope the Kings and Ducks both win so we can play them.

I posted this in the other thread, but this should answer it:

Love that the odds line up with the Kings and Knights!

I’m rooting for a Kings win that gets us a Vegas matchup.

gotta love how the hart arguments are always comparing mcdavid and giroux and mackinnon or the latest flavor of the week then someone mentions kopi and its totally ignored or someones like "oh yeah forgot about him"

Giroux has a hat trick against the hapless Rangers and it's making him a shoe-in.

Meanwhile Kopitar has 4 goals head to head vs. another MVP candidate completely shutting him down in a must-win game and it's "meh."

I do not mind if Giroux gets it. I think he has been underrated since not making the Olympic team.

Giroux doesn't have a case beyond what anyone else has. He has linemates within 17 points with him and has played wing all year with a guy Flyers fans have been touting for the Selke. If it's raw points you want, gotta go with McDavid/Kucherov. If it's dominance over team, have to go with Kopitar/Hall. Then there's also MacKinnon. He's a hard sell over any of those.

exactly, across the board, for the centers, they're all basically equal. fundamental difference is defense. mcdavid is better than giroux offensively, kopitar is better than giroux defensively. there's really no argument for giroux beating either of them. hall has dragged that garbage team into the playoffs and that's big but he's again, an offensive specialist. kopitar's PK minutes on the best PK in the league should have huge weight but people are busting nuts over points while ignoring everything else

Most valuable to a team is just almost impossible to define. If the best player on a team gets hurt in pre-season, misses the entire year, and the team was supposed to be good, but they finish 4th worst, why wouldn't that guy win the MVP?

Kopitar had to do it without Carter, but if Carter had been healthy, he might have 70+ points. Kopitar didn't do it by himself. Quick is better than what the Flyers have thrown out there in net. Doughty is better than who the Flyers have. Giroux put up career numbers in every category with Simmonds having lower numbers in every category.

Even when Gretzky was winning every year in Edmonton, was he truly the most valuable to his team? What did they have, 7 HoF players? 8? Something like that.

You can pick a name out of a hat this year, and easily make a legit case for whichever name you see.

I can't make a legit case for Giroux that someone else doesn't have beat. As you say, the criteria is flexible, but pick a criteria and someone does it better.

B-b-but Giroux makes his entire team better which is why they all have more points. Hall and Kopitar can't make their teammates better.
