I don’t recall the last meeting with Arizona going well. The Coyotes scary, simply because of the way the Kings tend to play against them.

This is what scares me. Any time the Kings have had a chance to give themselves some breathing room, they've **** the bed, case in point the Edmonton game on Saturday.

If the Kings beat Arizona (regulation or OT) and the Ducks in regulation we are going to pretty much lock up 3rd in the Pacific. This team better come out flying on Thursday and play one of their best games of the season to give themselves that chance on Friday.

Imo play quick on Thursday. If they win, let Campbell go on Friday, he's played well enough.

If they lose on Thursday, then they have to go with quick again Imo.

I'd put Campbell against Yotes. Still a big game but he can handlle. Quick for ducks

A 3rd place finish in the Pacific Division may be required to make the playoffs. I can see the Blues and Avs both getting in with wildcards.

except

St Louis:
@ VGK
@ ARZ - 2nd of a back to back
VS WSH
VS CHI
@ CHI
@ COL

Colorado:
VS PHI
VS CHI
@ ANA
@ LA - 2nd of a back to back
@ SJ
VS STL

Anaheim:
VS LA
VS COL
VS MIN
VS DAL
@ ARZ

Los Angeles:
VS ARZ
@ ANA - 2nd of a back to back
VS COL
VS MIN
VS DAL

Colorado's schedule looks incredibly difficult, the CALI trip and the STL game is too much

Anaheim has a 4 game homestand and the only road game is Arizona

what's great for LA though, is that ANA will have faced COL MIN DAL the night before our games, so they'll be all nice and tender for us

the ANA / LA game will really determine who finishes 3rd in the pacific vs who finishes in the wild card

but to me ANA LA STL are in
COL is out

The last game between St. Louis and Colorado may be for the last wild card.

I still think both of them can make it, and watch out for a three-point game if a single point gets both teams into the playoffs.

Other than Colorado, St. Louis doesn't play any team that isn't already comfortably in the playoffs or been eliminated from playoff contention. Colorado definitely has a more difficult task, but if they can get 7 points out of the 12 remaining, they are likely in the playoffs.

I was thinking the same thing, that may be a play-in game, like that Philly-Rangers shootout back in...2010? Crazy.

Other than the Kings, Chicago has pretty much laid down for any team serious about collecting two points against them. St. Louis plays Chicago twice and Colorado once.

Kane has been unbelievable. On the potential bright side SJ might reward him with a big contract they end up regretting.
If they get Kane instead of Tavares or Karlsson, I'll take it. No idea if they have a chance for either but I've read they'll have the cap space and they went hard after Stamkos a couple years ago.

I think the Kings will grab the very final wild card spot, and Colorado will be the odd man out.

And we’ll get shit stomped by Nashville in the first round.

Thornton, Ward, Kane, and Hansen off the books at seasons end gives them roughly $18 - $20 million in cap space to play with. Add to that, they will look to buyout or trade Paul Martin so that could be another couple million. I would not be surprised if they landed Tavares.

I thought JT was a lock to stay on the Island but it's looking more and more like he will bolt. They did not go out at the deadline and improve the club, goaltending is a big issue and the arena situation is still messy between going back and forth from Barclay's to Nassau for the next several years.

Complete and total disaster for NY Islanders to lose Tavares for nothing.

Thing is, if they do, it's probably less to do with asset management and money and more to do with being a f***ing clown show. Total disaster, but one I don't even feel bad for the organization for, because it would be one brought upon themselves.
