Defense was optional tonight apparently for the Sharks and Panthers

Cats were up 5-3 with minutes left and the Sharks got one and then tied it with about 30 seconds left. Bobby Luo got hurt on that goal and had to be helped off the ice. Reimer came in cold and held up in OT.
Good to see the Panthers playing better now that both Huberdeau and Barkov are healthy. They really feed off each other and are fun to watch.
Jagr with last nights point, 1900 all time. On his 45th birthday and they showed a close up of him on the bench and noted that he had won 2 Stanley cups before either of his linemates were born. That's really something

Brent Burns with 25 goals, could hit 40. He should be a Hart nominee , along with Carter but I don't think he will be. But without him, and his production this year, the Sharks would not be where they are. Wonder when the last time a defenseman was tied for 2nd in scoring?

Brent Burns is now tied for second in NHL scoring with Sidney Crosby at 61 points. Two behind Connor McDavid.

Hearing that Claude Julien's deal with Habs starting next season is 5 x $5 M average per year. Would put him 3rd behind Babcock and Q in NHL

Brent Burns is the 6th defenceman to get consecutive 25+ goal seasons- joins Paul Coffey, Phil Housley, Al MacInnis, Bobby Orr, Denis Potvin

Pretty good company...

Jordan Weal was the Flyers best player again, that line (with Cooter and Voracek) also was their best. Weal played over 15 min and had 6 SOG was flying and buzzing all night.
Really annoys me he was wasting in the AHL for 50 plus games when he could have been here instead of Vandevelde among others.
But he's here now and thriving.
Shame the rest of the team isn't. Captain Invisible now with 2 goals in his last 22 games.

Really happy to see this. I like to see our ex-prospects succeed.

Vermette gets 10 games.

Even before this suspension I was predicting Anaheim would fade down the stretch. Now I feel even more confident about it.

I hope you're right.

As bad as the Kings offense issues have been, if zatkoff had simply gone .500 that would be an extra 5-6 more points. We'd be within easy striking distance of even the #2 spot once we got healthy.

All things in perspective. I'd like it if they bucked the trend and won coming out of the break.

Hopefully. What was the record cited earlier? 3-9? Yikes.

On the plus side, Dustin Brown seems to do better against Arizona.

But that's unpossible. The Kings scouts only draft for character. They don't draft skill players.

I want to agree but it could go either way. As much as I fight against it because I think it's misleading, if the Kings LOST some of those OT games, we'd be right out of it. But yeah, if Zatkoff had been even just below average instead of a stinkshow, we'd be fighting for 2-3 right now instead of scraps. And that's PRE full health.

On the flipside, some other teams are starting to get banged up.

And apparently he's now going to appeal it.

What a bag of ****.

Ya but if Budaj didn't emerge than how many points would LA lose?

God it's hard defending him after the turd burger game he had last night.
