We're San Jose fans tonight.

Sharks are giving Jones a rest and starting Dell.

NHL.com has a great article on the Kings....basically saying if the Kings are to make the playoffs, besides it being blatantly obvious they need to win a bunch of games, but that if they do that, the team they are most likely to catch is EDM, not STL.

We play EDM three more times, and EDM also has another combined 4 games vs SJ/ANA. Interesting...

Oilers play the Bruins tonight. Kings win and Oilers loss will bring them within six points, which is the exact amount of points on the table between the two teams when they meet. Unless of course the games wind up in OT...

No one really believes Edmonton is going to completely fall apart, do they?

It's not going to happen.

On today's NHL Now , everyones favorite tv hack Tyson Nash blames the loss vs the Croyotes on Doughty when he iced the puck. He called it a selfish play by a guy trying to pad his stats and if he had done it, he'd never see the ice again. He later went on to say if the Kings miss the playoffs by a point , it's because of that. He played in the NHL at one time, right...because nobody can be that clueless?

What an idiot!

If Muzzin made a similar play, what would people around here being saying about it?

Nash is a goober, but he's right. It was a stupid play. I was listening to the Coyote feed, Nash had to wait all of 10 seconds from the icing to be proven 100% right. Doesn't matter that Doughty's shot was accurate and the ice was bad, he took a risk and burned his team.

Basically, we're at that time of season where teams like the sharks and ducks will play their backups against teams we need them to beat. It rests their main guy and if they lose, it hurts us. Win-win proposition really since they're just jockeying for position.

I have no idea why Sharks fans would want the Kings out of the playoffs.

The Sharks matchup incredibly well against the Kings, I think a matchup with the Kings would be way more beneficial to them than the Blues.

The Kings have given away a lot of points at home this year. Should they miss the playoffs by a point, you can't say it was that specific Coyote game that did it, although of course Nash would say it was the Coyotes that did it. If the bounce on the faceoff goes a different way, nobody remembers Doughty missed on the open net. If the puck goes in, nobody remembers how risky it was.

When you're in the Kings position though, every point matters, so every little detail will be looked at through a microscope. Every negative angle will be talked about endlessly. When you win, nobody cares about the details, because clearly you've done the little things correctly.
