Saw a report that if Panarin finishes in the top ten in points, he gets a $1.725 million bonus. That would put the hawks in bonus overage for next season by $2.64 million.

Next year is going to be a good year to make a push in the playoffs. Lots of teams will be doing some reshuffling for the expansion draft, Hawks in cap hell... good opportunity.

True. I'm more cheering for the extra cap hit for the Hawks that'll carry over to next year. When you're against the cap that money has to come from somewhere.

blood clots are scary, and 1-3 mos doesn't sound like enough time. And hopefully he has better luck than Dupuis who had to retire because of reoccurrence, which (at the time Dupuis retired in an article I read) was 23%. Hockey not the best place to be when having to take blood thinners....

I don't know how many times I've heard "the Hawks are so screwed" from a cap perspective, and they always managed through it just fine.
