Guys--if you're having issues with certain posters, just block them. That should stop PM interaction, as well. If it doesn't, let a mod here know (or another one, if you're comfortable) and we'll pass it on. There are other actions we can take to stop the harassment.

Anyone know how much ticket prices are for the all Stars?

#NHL expected to announce Los Angeles as host of 2017 All-Star Game at Staples Center, coinciding with #LAKings' 50th anniversary. #TSN

That thread is amazing, what with all the "He was in pain, so he couldn't tell it was a ref, and also didn't mean to hit him and follow through."

If he wasn't bleeding out of his eyes, ears, nose and mouth... He hadn't been hurt enough to mistake this:

I'm surprised that hall of famer, Bud Holloway, hasn't been able to put the Canadiens over the top… only 1 game, must have gotten a herniated disc from carrying the team in that one game.

Yeah I watched it a million times trying to understand it, just such a weird play...but the follow thru seals it for me. If anything, you'd just bear hug the guy or not extend your arms and let him run into you for more of a cushion...you wouldn't extend the crosscheck, heh.

I think Wideman did that by mistake. Shaken up, end of shift, head was up in the clouds, period. People who are trying to argue that he mistook the liensman for a Pred are stupid. I think he didn't notice the guy, period. Space cadet, dummy, whatever you want to call him, Wideman wasn't paying attention. Which is amazing, because you know, Wideman's one of the most renownedly consistent and dependable players out there.

I just respectfully disagree because to me there is no such thing as an 'accidental' follow through there.

wow.

For anyone who avoids the mainboard, ASG or John Scott chat...

Give the Players Tribune's John Scott article a read anyways.

Damn good piece, I could give a **** about ASG but after reading really glad he is going.

Yeah that piece was gold.

All I see when I watch the replay is someone being an idiot. It happens.

I've noticed that some teams have their own local broadcast even when it's an NBCSN game. But it never happens for the Kings. Is it FSW being cheap? "Hey Kings fans, NBCSN has the game so let us have the night off."

If the local team's RSN is owned by Comcast, then NBCSN will use them since Comcast owns NBC.

If this weren't the case, there would be way fewer NBCSN telecasts as it wouldn't be cost-effective.

This and why I cringe every time we play SJ and it's on NBCSN. Have to listen to their guys. Even though even I will admit they have gotten better when they are doing a national game. It's use to be they would whine anytime a call went against San Jose.

As to the second part I would be just fine with that.

That's not what I was saying. I remember the Sabres were on NBCSN but they also had their local network (MSG) airing that game and MSG is not affiliated with Comcast.

I'm glad he's going, quite honestly I think he made a new All-star type. From now on I kinda hope there's a Gretzky type, a Lidstrom type, a Triple Crown line, a Doughty v Karlsson type, and now a John Scott type that makes it to the ASG, especially while the East vs West points don't matter.

If the ASG was meant to be fun and inviting to the range of fans and non-fans alike then why not put on a full range of players. If you want to make it full on East vs West for home ice, by all means lay out the carpet for the superstars. But when the points given for the ASG have little meaning on the league for that year then why not have it be a hybrid popularity contest, I just hope the "Dreamer Dan" nominee has an interesting background as John Scott and is someone you could clap for when he skates out on the ice.

We all know everyone is going to be setting everyone else up in these games, goalies are barely going to be making saves and D-men are going to be making fewer hip checks than in preseason games.

There's already an ECHL all star game. Scott can play there every year. He can continue having fun.

The defense of Wideman is amongst the most laughably idiotic things I've ever seen from the hockey community. Figures it comes from Calgary fans.

Guy cross checked the ref from behind. And he didn't miss a shift. "He was dazed" is an utterly ridiculous excuse.

My favorite part of the debate is that no one seems to grasp the problem if you believe that he was "out of it" and experiencing issues with consciousness. He played his very next shift and never left the game.

So if you believe that he was experiencing trauma from the hit, particularly head trauma...then the Flames violated concussion protocol by letting him continue to play.
