Yeah, I know, still hilarious that all these analysts are praising his play. I guess the cap hit will do that.

If the Capitals are using him as their 3C in the playoffs they'll have a very Capitals-esque run.

Analysts love to bring up intangibles when a player brings nothing tangible to the ice.

I doubt he sees very much ES ice time in the playoffs, and I truly hope the Caps go far this year.

Dan Rosen reporting that Eric Staal is practicing on wing on the 1st line with Nash and Stephan, I guess the Rags want size there.

THey won' t be. Marcus johansson centers that line and it's been their best and most consistant. He's been terrific. Winnik might be playing wing there there, but believe he'll play with Beagle and Richards on the 4th line. But he's an upgrade over Laich, good guy, good teammate but was an expensive liability.
Smart move by the Caps, Winnik isn't a rental, has 1 yr left and losing Laich's contract gives them money (savings of 2.25M with Laich leaving) now if they want to get a defenceman.

Unless Holtby goes down, the CAPS are the best team in the East and this is not the same team that have been in playoff runs before, as any hockey fan would know. They're a very deep team at every position, if they stay healthy they have a great shot at winning the Cup. Losing Carlson for a month will hurt and like so many other GM's, they'll be looking to upgrade their defense I think.

Plays in the OHL with North Bay, same team as Amadio. Just saw the kid this past weekend versus Hamilton.

He is a big boy and plays on both their special teams units. Not a bad skater as well.

Hard to believe this guy is 22.

Yzerman on Drouin: "Jonathan is suspended. If he wants to come back and play, the door is open. That’s up to him."

He should have reported to the AHL team and not sulked. HOpefully, he gets the message and does the right thing.

San Jose absolutely abused the Habs with a 6-2 win.

I fully expect a tight checking game from the Kings on Thursday with one goal being the deciding factor when they play the Habs.

100%. Ducks will beat Montreal 6-2 on Wednesday and the Kings will win 2-1 in OT on Thursday.

Was heading to NHL network for tonight's highlights and instead saw the 30 for 30 on the OJ chase on. What a wild ****ing day that was in LA. Rangers Cup parade and NBA Finals getting split-screened too. Everyone's eyes on that chase. Not a bad alternative without a Kings game on right now.

Little-known fact. Glenn Frey was supposed to star in a cop or crime show that premiered that night, but L.A. people never got to see it because it was pre-empted by OJ Simpson chase coverage. The show didn't air again, I believe.

He did report....but then he tucked his tail between his legs and walked out

Sounds like Arizona doesn't intend to sign Bleackley and will instead take the 53rd pick in the draft as compensation for not signing a former first rounder. It seemed like Roy and company immediately regretted the Bleackley pick. They took him in 2014 and he had a really bad prospect camp. If I recall correctly, Roy went out of his way to tell the press how disappointing he was. They canned their head amateur scout three months later.

Also listening to a TSN Vancouver interview with Bob McKenzie. Most teams would have preferred Dan Hamhuis to Kris Russell but Dallas liked Russell more. Dallas had similar offers out for both of them but chose to complete the Russell deal. Then they made a revised offer to Vancouver just before the deadline, but their new offer wasn't nearly as good as their original offer. Hamhuis only gave Vancouver a couple options as landing spots and no reasonable offers came in after the Russell domino dropped.

Watching the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals Olympic Diving Teams makes me realize why the Kings don't get more calls.

Really need Dustin Brown to step his game back up to where it was in previous years there.

The problem is, Brown would be the only one going to the box even if the dman stick was stuck between both skate blades.

Brown drew a tripping call last game. Still seems to draw a fair number of calls, and last season he was still drawing a lot of calls even though his play was worse than this year.

Worse than this year? His shooting percentage is at an all time low. Since 2013 it has dropped rapidly year after year. The guy simply can't play hockey at a high level anymore.
