Gaborik is a very good player. Brown can't even skate.

It's yet to be seen what this injury does to him.
Sadly he could come back a shell of a player. And even have a year or so after it where he's not right.
Look at Pearson and he seems to just be getting his legs back now. And he's a whole lot younger to recover.

hopefully Gabo comes back healthy and with something to prove. I rewatched the 2014 cup run highlights a few days ago and its really amazing how big of an impact he had, especially in the Anaheim series. dude is a lethal goal scorer when he wants to be

I for one must be in the minority here because I don't think the Gaborik from the 2014 cup run is any different than the Gaborik of 2015-2016. He can still skate and has a lethal shot - true sniper. You can't expect Gaborik to play 82 games at the same level as did in the playoffs. Before his injury, the guy was on pace to get 20+ goals. If people are critical about his consistency over the season, then they should consider Kopitar and Carter to be busts as well because they had their ups and downs this season.

Kopitar and Carter are crapped on often.

You bringing up his skating is exactly what I was mentioning I was worried about.
Pearson it has taken a year for his legs to come back even if he's been playing all that time.
We just don't know what this injury will do to him.

Gaborik has come back from serious injuries in the past. Not sure if they were knee but I feel like at least one was lower body (maybe hip). So the fact he knows how to staty fit when off skates should help ease the nerves a little.

Salt parade is on in the main boards on the team canada roster announcement. I hope no one has a paper cut in there, they won't be enjoying themselves much.

He's always had nagging groin/hip problems which got corrected in his first year in New York after a surgery.

Stupid main board ****s forgetting that Carter was second in scoring on Team Canada in 2014 with Weber. Both were second to the best defenseman on the planet - Drew Doughty.

Fun fact when looking for Sochi stats to shut people up--Kopitar was +4 as he was not on the ice for ANY 5v5 goals against. Not bad with Slovenia.

You knew Dean would drop a historical reference at some point talking about the selection of certain players [ ie. Abdelkader]
:
“I have an idea what John is thinking. But I don’t think Alexander the Great gave away his plans when he was at Gaugamela.”

He does seem to be a headscatcher for me too. Ryan,Backes and Kessel were left off. The center group doesn't really match up very well with some of the other teams.

Doughty looks like he just hit pause on his xbox to do a quick interview.
