Perron has a history with us that predates Anaheim.

He took one good run at Quick literally every game in our first Blues series.

The beef I have with him is he has zero respect for goalies and he's a hit-and-runner. Perry is at least a 50-goal scorer who just crashes the net mega hard and will stand there and take his licks.

Perry is also built to take the kind of abuse he gets all the time in front of the net. Never seems to deter him, he's that kind of animal. Honestly, I'd prefer a pest or a rat or even a piece of **** like Perron over a soft Swede like Carl Hagelin any day of the week. That guy was beyond worthless and his contract was poison. We are well rid of him. I don't think you see Gibson get run a lot because there's always a Duck forward or Dman to guard the crease (Manson, Bieksa even, Garbutt, Kesler, McGinn now, whoever).

I've only been looking at the Division standings lately, and haven't been paying attention to the Conference or even League standings lately. Pacific has been making up ground on the Central. Kings and Ducks have their fate in their own hands if they want first seed in the West (and second in the League). In fact, if my math is correct, they're the only ones who can mathematically move up past Chicago (in the same number of games and as of tonight). They're 5 points back with 3 games in hand. Pretty crazy, I didn't realize we were up so high overall.

I don't blame you one bit for that; after all, we've got plenty of pests. Just pointing out the history.

yep, Pacific has made up ground. Even SJ has a shot at first in the conference in short order if all the chips fell right. Notice the Central has shut up a bit lately while the Kings/Ducks/Sharks have all been quietly assassinating the west.

Pacific division is the only division in the NHL with more than 1 serious contender I think too. Ducks, Kings, Hawks, Bolts, Caps are it.

Where's Stoll when you need him? He would have boarded him by now

Stoll would have done more than boarded him, Stoll has special ways of dealing with guys of this ilk.

I think if that shot hadn't hit Burrows in the melon we might have seen the first puck ever reach the 300 levels.

This happened today.

My god HNIC over hypes the Leafs prospects. They way they were talking [ and showing plays] of a couple of the prospects they called up, you'd think they were McDavid and Larkin.

I'm actually kinda happy for Leafs fans (which feels weird because I usually hate everyone). They finally have people running the organization that know what they're doing. Leafs are stacked with picks this year.

Cory Schneider strained his MCL and will be out at least a couple weeks. Devils will be doing their California trip this week and have looked mostly in disarray the last month.
