Quick Poll:

When ANA plays SJS, who do you root for? Do circumstances make the difference? My position: much rather see the Ducks beat the Sharks, everything else being equal.

Torres be an idiot and get suspended for the season so he won't injure a Kings player?

Didn't get to actually watch but definitely didn't expect a 1-0 result with ANA and SJS. 31 saves for Khudobin, only 17(?) SOG for Ducks but they get the win. I know it's about quality over quantity, but Florida had more shots on us today than the Ducks did on SJS, and they still only scored one goal...I just don't get them right now. But wins are the metric that matters most when you're struggling, heh.

I always root for the Sharks when they play the Ducks. I like their fanbase better. Plus they have Jones now. So it's too bad they couldn't get it done tonight.

Fair enough, and I don't think you'll find many that completely disagree, but people are discounting Lucic and it's maddening.
Players like Lucic are the ones I like the most but Lombardi went over the top with that package. I dont see many who dont appreciate a player like Lucic.

Its allowed to repeat how the Kings have screwed the Jackets over and over again. Yet people get quickly tired to read how awful that deal was. Its part of the game, deal with it.

All about context. If the Kings are ahead of both, whoever is lower in the standings. If the Kings are behind both, whoever is higher in the standings.

It wasn't just getting Lucic. It was getting Lucic with Boston retaining salary for a full season. If it was like Gaborik at the deadline, it doesn't cost as much. 1 season might not be a long time, but it's still 1 season.

Jones really wasn't a very valuable asset. Just like Bernier wasn't. RFA's, who wanted to play, but stuck behind Quick. Boston obviously has Rask. If Lombardi was willing to trade Jones to the Sharks himself, he probably has more value, but that would've been unlikely from both ends.

An unsigned backup for the Kings, an unknown 1st round pick who probably won't do anything in the NHL for 2, 3, 4 years, if ever, and a defensive prospect who hadn't played an NHL game yet. Is that really going over the top?

Miller is the 5th/6th d-man on Boston in terms of ice time at this point. Are the Kings better off with say Mersch and Miller, or Lucic and McBain? There's no way of knowing for sure, since both can't happen at the same time. Except for in the other universe that we don't have access to.

Sharks are spectating; Perry gets behind and them and easily beats Jones.

Sharks over Ducks any day for me. Their fanbase is 1000x better, no exaggeration.

But in the grand scheme of things, Hawks over anyone except when they play the Kings, of course.

Circumstances make all the difference, at this point in the season, just end it in regulation, but later, whatever benefits the Kings. Hopefully it doesn't come to that, and they stay in the top 3 for the most part.

I'll take the lesser of two evils, the Sharks. The further the Ducks stay in the standings, the better.

Breaking News: New Jersey vs. Vancouver. First time I've ever seen a 5 minute major for interference

You know, the hit was a little late, but was probably more of a 2 minute minor. He didn't hit the guy in the head, yet his head snapped back, more from surprise I think.

Tough call for NJ and the refs there, it looked way worse at full speed.

If I heard that right, this is already the seventh time Van has been in OT  That's HALF of their games.

We need to squeeze extra points out of losses like these guys do...or just keep racking up ROWs, that's good too ;)

Scott waived, Clune as well. Torres is almost out of the NHL. It's good to see the Goons getting dropped from NHL teams.

Players like those are obsolete and belong wayyyyy down in the minors, like ECHL minors. They have no business in this league.

Every time I watch Sekera in EDM; I am extremely happy the Kings didn't sign him too a bloated contract.

Sekera is vastly overrated, he was probably paid perfectly at around 3 million.

You guys are celebrating and we've got Andreoff.

Who can at least play a regular shift in the NHL. So can Torres, but Torres is a dumb hockey player that simply won't change his hitting habits. So Torres needs to be out of the league, before he kills someone.

6th time VAN has played past 60, you could also look at it as they have given away 5 points (1-5 in OT/SO), much like the Kings last year going 3-15 in games that went beyond 60.

Props to Clune for overcoming what he did to get to the NHL, but boy was he a terrible hockey player.

There are still a lot of old school guys running NHL teams, I think in the next 10-15 years when guys like Burke are gone for good we will see the end of goons in the NHL.

I agree he's over paid but would look a lot better on the kings as a number 4. He's just not a top pairing guy. He chose money over going for the cup, hope he's enjoying his stay in Edmonton.

Bob Cole is terrible. Should have retired long ago. It's excruciating listening to this guy trying to call a game.

They are on pace for a 33-22-27 record for 93 points.

VAN should be arrested for OT-loss abuse.

But Andreoff isn't known as a cheap shot artist. Our boys Nolan, Clifford, and Andreoff are known as honest players. Other fan bases may not like them, but they sure as heck aren't head hunters like Torres.

Dude is Jagr of the announcers world. But not as talented. Just...old
