They are only in playoff contention because the Pacific is a garbage division and the loser point (when in reality they are 9 games under .500) is giving them false hope.

It's really 5 under. They're 3-9 in OT, and 4-2 in the SO, so 13-18 in regulation. That's why they're sitting 11th in the West, and 5th in the Pacific, in points%. The regulation tie point will keep them in the race only so long, since they're ahead of just Edmonton, Columbus, and Toronto in terms of non-SO wins. They've played 4 more games than Arizona, and 5 more than both Anaheim and Calgary. At least 1 team in the Pacific will pass them if they keep doing that.

I mean, this is maybe faint praise, but Van gets credit from me for just being 'tough to beat.' They don't usually play like the Wild, either, they're usually going for it until late in the game. They won't make the playoffs this way and they shouldn't, but they're not, say, Buffalo.

Stoll scores on the ducks and sharks on this trip, but not against us. He must have been going easy on us.

I guess I should just be thankful it wasn't a three-point game but that's what those chicken-**** wild get for playing trap hockey.

Shaping up into a big weekend for the Kings against the Coyotes and Sharks.

This has to be the latest in a season that a game between Florida and Tampa Bay means something for both teams.

Guess what Don, they also get scored on too.

Well that's not true, they have a playoff wi---wait.

Oh never mind

Haha, you caught my post before I changed it.

Still basically the same meaning. Winnipeg was soooooo happpppyyy to steal a team that they didn't seem to care for a couple of seasons.

Now they are very unhappy. Are you paying attention, Rams? Start working on putting a better product on the field immediately or the Rams are gonna be the new (WPG) Jets.

I found it alarming how quickly the Thrashers were relocated. With the NHL's desperate struggle to keep the Coyotes in Arizona, I didn't think the Thrashers relocation would be a done deal in what seemed like a week. For some reason I've always had a soft spot for Coyotes. I've been to that arena for a game several times. It's a very nice arena even though it's at about 75-80% capacity. I also tired of the Canadian traditionalists kept going on how that market doesn't deserve a team.

Since 1993, Canadian market teams have won the same exact number of Cups that the Coyotes have won.

Without Don's lame reasoning. There is a decent reason to not play your star forwards on the PK (all things equal). As everyone plays their stars on the PP, meaning the shifts following are generally 3rd/4th liners. Easy way to get the momentum back, by having those killer matchups.

Thrashers had to be moved, as they were literally being thrown out of their arena.
