You guys must've missed Getzlaf's comment in Arizona then.

(It was something along the lines of "It's hard to get up for a game in front of such a small crowd"... dude's a real idiot sometimes)

Yeah, that was a real strange comment. He probably meant something else and it just came out wrong (giving him the benefit of the doubt).

Blackhawks fans unhappy. A ton of lower bowl seats in Miami that held Blackhawks fans' butts now empty, empty, empty.

Kind of like Staples last night.

Are you guys ****ing kidding me?

Talking politics on a hockey forum. It's a very simple no-no by the rules.

Any further discussion of moderation...you know what happens next.

Our 'jobs' aren't hard but the constant disrespect is getting ridiculously old. There are VERY easy rules to follow. We've tried to keep it mellow around here but it's becoming a once-a-thread thing now. Knock it off or face the consequences you know are coming.

Love you all.

:handclap:

Yep, our forum has been very chill the past year or so. Not sure why same people complaint. :help:

Weird stat from last night . The Boston-Vancouver game had ZERO penalties called on either teams. This was the first game after the ugly Dec 5th game when there was 51 min in PIMS, including the spear to the junk, and Dorsett went after Rinaldo for an earlier boarding penalty. You'd think there would be a little carry over or even a typical interference call, but nope, nothing for either team.

Florida up 3-0 on Chicago after one. Interesting.

I knew I liked the Panthers.

Thanks, RJ for keeping politics out of here. There is enough rancor out there. Instead of yelling at each other along political lines here, we can unite as fellow Kings fans and yell at Ducks and Sharks fans. ;)

This is should be our little hockey haven.

Just watched the condensed game. The look on the Chicago fans' faces was priceless. So many incredulous and blank stares. A lot in the lower bowl like you said. Fun game :)

The politics board is pretty much a branch of the main board and not a really good place to talk about anything, unless you enjoy getting bullied. Since there are no rules there, it becomes a **** show where opposing opinions are silenced through flaming. Here we at least share similarities in that we are Kings fans, and immature name calling is prohibited. 99.999% of the politics board population are just terrible people who do not contribute to any sort of discussion. The rare times one of us show up it looks like it's getting better but everything else is just filth.

So you're saying they're all future politicians? :)

I'm in agreement with you personally. I guess what I'm saying is I see it as less of a value judgment and more of what you say about showing hockey as a safe place for anyone who wants to play. The issue itself SHOULD be politicized (NOT HERE OBVIOUSLY) but the idea/action in this case shouldn't inherently be really offending anyone's views. In other words, it shouldn't have come to that in the first place.

There is a politics board to sound off on that aspect of it.

I get what you are saying about wanting to compartmentalize discussion but you have to look at it from our angle too. People want to discuss an arguably hockey issue that has its roots in politics with other posters they know on a level higher than the cretins you find infesting the main/politics board. If I as a poster am going to be herded into a board where I am forced to discuss a very important issue with hamsters and ferrets, I'm going to lose interest in the topic and not participate.

I understand, and I think this board could handle it better than most, but it doesn't take long before people start discussing partisan/value points of view and then it starts getting personal. I've seen this a few times in my short-ish time as a mod. if we can keep it from getting on too political a level it's obviously fine to discuss. There shouldn't be a large signal-to-noise ratio though. I didn't say "don't discuss it," i just said refrain from taking a political stance when discussing it. Of course, much like the cap tying to economics, which are discussions we've been able to have, it's okay to bring it in peripherally as it relates to the issue.

Well, this is awkward. I like the Dodgers so that has to count for something. Right guys? Guys? :help:

I didn't mean to cause trouble Racoon Jesus. I thought the tape thing is just a good thing to do and I thought everyone has my same line of thought because it seems rational. I'll keep quiet next time.

Lol Vancouver. Up 2-0 after one. Up 2-1 after two. Lose 5-4 in regulation. Malkin hat trick.

EDIT: Hansen also got a hat trick.

Four unanswered goals on the fourth.

I can't get a handle on this VAN team at all. Meandering most of the season in OT (and then losing), they finally show signs of making a move in the Pacific and then this epic collapse.

This, along with Arizona's inevitable fold, leads me to believe more than ever that it will be the three California teams making a guaranteed playoff spot in the Pacific, with ARI or VAN as a wild card spot only if those Central division bottom-dwellers continue to play badly.

Can't remember the last I heard of two hat tricks in one game. In the '80s, that happened twice a week. :)

I feel bad for Vancouver fans.

They have a garbage team that is being propped up by two brothers.
They have a GM that is trying to re-tool on the fly (which never works).
They have no identity outside of petulance and *************.
They are a terrible drafting organization.
They are only in playoff contention because the Pacific is a garbage division and the loser point (when in reality they are 9 games under .500) is giving them false hope.
They have a roster full of mentally fragile players.

Oh wait, no I don't.

No it's all good, just trying to nip it in the bud before it gets incendiary. Not everyone shares the same values and not everyone will agree on it--which is fine, was just trying to make a point about taking it to the bigger picture rather than focusing on the hockey side.
