#canadiens didn't want to put Jarred Tinordi on waivers knowing he'll get claim. Value on the trading market wasn't high. #tvasports

Can't believe that's the best they could do...

So the official trade is Stefan Elliot to Nashville for Vicktor Bartley. Coyotes then trade Bartley and Scott are traded to Montreal for Tinordi. Weird deal.

Looks like either Domi or OEL will take Scott's place

It may have to be Domi if he does get replaced just so the FWD to D is still balanced

Bummed that John Scott won't be at the All-Star game. The people have spoken, and they have been told to

I know the Caps have been good this year. And have watched games when I can just because of Williams. But they are now at 80 points percentage. That's 5% above any team in the cap era over a full season. Chicago had over 80% as well in the shortened season.
Can they keep it up over 82 games or how much will they fall off?

That's about 131 points in 82 games. That's a lot. Even with the extra point for an OT win. Detroit and Washington have gotten over 120 since the 2nd lockout, so it's probably unlikely they reach that point. Between 115-119, that's happened a few more times.

If they went .500 for the rest of the year, they're almost at 110 points. They would have to really slump not to hit that. But, 131 is a lot.

That's BS for Scott and for fans of the league that voted for him. If the NHL doesn't respect its own fan balloting they should shove it up their you know what.

I doubt it was fans of the league really. It was a social media campaign. And I can almost promise there were many votes outside of fans.

It's not every day when TPTB are actually out to get you in a grand conspiracy, but this was one of those days.

The whole Scott thing was so stupid. It was funny once for Rory, now its just old. Especially in a 3 on 3 format which could actually be mildly entertaining. I'd rather see skill over the novelty of a clown on skates.

What people who aren't fans of hockey know who John Scott is? /r/hockey did it and little bit of information from MvsW podcast basically got it started and it just snowballed until he won the vote.

I know I'm watching because I want to see the atlantic win the first round. Just to find out if Jagr dies on the ice. We know he's a freak of nature but at his age 3-3 2 games equaling 40 minutes.

The league orchestrating a trade to put a player out of the league so he doesn't appear in an All Star game as voted on by fans (or at least people who bothered to vote) of the league is pretty insane.

Sometimes the NHL feels more like MLS then any of the big three leagues in North America.

It's all about finances. The Habs could afford to bury his contract at 550K where the Yotes likely didn't want to. The Yotes are in a playoff position and doing rather well. And he wasn't helping the team and having that buried money wasn't helping the finances.

Where I think the league is perfectly happy with the result I don't think they did anything to encourage it.

i agree, but it happened and scott wanted to go. His family (kids) were excited for him. Basically the league mandates who the fans can vote on, and they need to sleep in the bed they made.

I will be tuning in this year for the first time in a long time due to the 3 on 3. And am kinda glad he will not be there. Doesn't mean I cannot feel bad for him for how it was handled.

I don't get how these deals make any sense for the habs. Tinordi plus the extra contract spot are easily worth more than scott or whomever the hell they got from the preds.
Heck I think the contract flexibility would be more valuable than either guy.

Edit: nevermind they included a minor league contract so the contract numbers equal out
