Fans were dickheads to vote for him in the first place. It's not funny at all. He's a crap player who probably shouldn't be playing pro hockey, then he gets voted, his family is proud of him, just for the NHL to step in and tell him he can't play. Too many immature ****s are hockey fans.

Not sure if this is legit, but John Scott's wife is having twins, due on the All-Star weekend. So basically not only does he not get to play in something he was really damn excited for, he's also now separated from his wife and has to miss something special.

would he not be separated from her had he attended the game anyway then? I don't think she lives in Nashville

Point taken, but this whole mess is ****ing embarrassing either way. I bet fans of other sports are laughing at us now.

You're assuming they will even know. It's hockey will ESPN cover it?
Since it's maybe considered a black eye to the NHL they might but LeBron might have a hangnail that needs wall to wall attention.

Sucks for him and his family, he was the only reason why I was going to watch it

Agreed.

Scott being an all star is a joke, the NHL asking him not to attend is an even bigger joke and quite pathetic.

The NHLs handling of this shows how shortsighted and stupid they are in having this open voting system that is always going to have issues of immature fans stuffing the ballot for preposterous players.

I guess they never learned their lesson with the whole Rory Fitzpatrick fiasco. They should have the fans vote from a selected pool of players or only vote for who the all-star starters should be from the players selected to participate in the game.

I doubt they are going to allow this to happen again.

As you say, they will pick the finalists, and no write-ins will be allowed.

Then again, maybe they are total morons, and won't change a thing.

That really does suck.

Crappy and mean-spirited move. The fans chose John Scott and I would have been glad to see an enforcer at the All-Star Game. In a weird way, it's one of the brief times those unsung players get some recognition for all they put into the game for their teams. I would have been cheering him on and tuning in. I'm disgusted by this trade and the timing of it.

I hope all those ******* fans are happy. Hur hur hur, it sure is funny now. **** the NHL and the Coyotes for that dick move too.

Absolutely and have lost all respect for the Coyotes and Canadiens organizations, along with the NHL. They ****ed this thing up from the first and now they look even worse, if that was possible. Actually feel sorry for John Scott, and if you told me I would ever feel that way my jaw would hit the ground.

I mention how funny it would be for Scott to be traded to Tampa in the trade thread as part of a deal for Drouin [joking of course], and how bad it would look. Well, it happened, just not to Tampa. Looks like Dr.Doan will probably get the nod, and if thats the case, who's the Pacific new captain?

I really don't get how this is the fault of the NHL/yotes/habs. The fans nominated a guy as a joke because he sucks at hockey. Maloney had been wanting to demote him for a while, but ownership didn't want to pay his salary when he wasn't with the team. Should Montreal have kept him up and made their team worse so the internet can have it's lulz?

That team is a one and done in the playoffs, maybe they'll get past the first round. Teams that do nothing but score and have no goaltending or defense never go far. Nice to see the Ducks put more pucks in the net though. I'm not complaining.
