Really TSN?

Of course, the oddest part of this situation is that TSN is owned by Bell Media, which also owns the Toronto Maple Leafs. So when the co-owner of the team is openly campaigning to have a player leave his team and join theirs … something something tampering something.

He was God-awful tonight.

Either he is:

1. Playing injured, and/or
2. Playing uninspired, or
3. Playing with his head up his ass.

Or playing his way to free agency. He won't be back in Tampa , even with the tax breaks. He'll make up the differences in endorsement deals when he signs somewhere else. Does Toronto really want to tie up 10.5-12 mil in cap space during a rebuild. By the time they get it turned around he'll be close to 30, if not over .

Thank god. This guy is a dirty bag and was getting tired of hearing about him.

I was thinking about this the other day, if another player not from the eastern media mecca , say from the west like Carter or Kopitar run that kind of streak , would they get the same type of attention Kane has gotten or would they be just a footnote in the game summery?

Gee some Ottawa fans don't like Doughty much, absolutely lynching him in the Karlsson thread. I wonder what our Goldenboys game would be like playing on the other coast.

Better than Karlsson, putting up insane points while actually playing world class defense along the way. Karlsson is basically a free wheeling rover who has no problem taking risks in a 0-0 game early in the first.

Doughty doesn't need to prove anything to anyone, let alone Captain Morgan Karlsson. Arguably the best player during two Gold medal runs and two Stanley Cup runs. Doughty is the best complete defenseman in the game.

Karlsson is an elite talent, It would be interesting to see the two swap jerseys for a month to see how they would respond to a different role / responsibility.

Not doubting that, but under our system of player having to be defensively responsible, he'd be a different player. I'd say closer to better version Voynov.

Doughty's role / responsibility wouldn't change. If he played for Ottawa the ice would be tilted in the opponent's direction and scoring chances for the opposition would drop as he played 30 minutes a night.

... And he'd actually play significant time on the PK. Wow, what a concept, a Dman playing defense.

I don't see why that's so contentious or hard to understand. Absolutely top notch elite offensive defenseman, more lost on defense than anyone talks about. I've been using center ice to watch a bunch of sens games for that reason alone, and it's been also fun watching Turris/Hoffman/Stone...love those guys...but I'm not exaggerating when I say at least one out of every 2/3 games EK is good for one godawful, gif-worthy defensive gaffe, nevermind the early career Muzzin style pinches and being so sloppy and out of position. Yes, no defenseman is flawless, but using that 'no defenseman is flawless' line implies that he only makes occasional mistakes/miscues when it's really pretty constant.

It's fine, carte blanche to play offense is best utilizing his talents--but that's flat out admitting that he's bad on D. He was in the NEUTRAL ZONE when the puck went in the net last night when there was no significant play to throw him that out of position!

I can't visit the main board anymore, it makes me feel like I"m taking crazy pills. I've been playing and watching hockey for 25 years and I know what I'm seeing and it's the exact same stuff Mike Green got **** for.
