Okay, sorry, gotta call you on this one.

Brown's overpaid and not performing, but he's still an NHL player, it's just a bad contract. Bolland is actually full-on terrible to the point where he shouldn't be in the NHL contract be damned.

but his contract is over in two years after this one. so if a deal is made after the season end I think it could make sense
maybe even a buy out to fit in Lucic.
also looking at his stats last year he posted almost the same # of points as Brown in only 53 games. Hate bolland for his hit on Richards but could help us out cap wise

Woah, look at Edmonton slide into 3rd in the division with a losing record.:laugh::laugh:

The losing record was due to starting the season with a new coach and new system and more important, learning to develop a winning mentality.
THey have won their last 6 games and are 7-2-1 in the last 10.

The 'losing record' is a thing of the past.

plus they have finally stooped dicking around with nurse. they sent fayne down to make a spot for him. Nurse has ariived and is/will be a stud.
Surprise for me has been Nillson

Couldn't agree more. Nothing not to like about his game and all the more reason for them to get a true top D veteran that can mentor him. Don't like him paired with Sekera, though and sometimes as talented as Nurse is, he looks like rookie gets exposed and maybe they should ease up on his minutes a bit. He's out against top competition on more shifts than he should be at this point in his very new NHL career. But he's got all the tools...and at 20 , he still has some muscle to put on that 6'4 frame.

I'm sure Chiarelli is happy with Nillsson ,and at 6'5' you have to love his size. Prior to the odd 7-5 win over NY, he started nine of the prior 10 Oilers games, and had a save percentage of .922. He hadn’t given up more than two goals in any of the prior five starts, and his save percentage in those games was .951.
He'll be in net tonight vs the Rangers, which should be a good game.
Maybe he'll develop into the #1 they need.

Kinda over the oilers freaking out over being in a playoff spot.

They are 3 points from bottom of the pacific, with 2 games in hand. Call me negative, but I find it easier to take that seriously then to cheer their current position.

When they have been as bad as they have for so long they have earned the right to be happy about being in a playoff spot this late in the year. Even if it is very tenuous.

I heard next month they are having a "We're still not mathematically eliminated" party.
:sarcasm:

You been drinking mouthwash???

Bolland had better point % last year, is paid less and has a contract that is 4 years shorter in length. I believe Centre is more of a need spot than wing.
I like brown a lot more than Bolland but from a pure cap stand point the deal may make sense and be the only way to deal brown without retention.

No offence but comparing production on two different types of teams when it involves the kings doesn't work. Just look at points for players who have left. Do you think Williams is any where near where he is now if still with the kings?

Different systems different results.

true I am usually the first to lay that point out to people who **** on kings.

Other than DB being and asshat I want to know why that deal wouldn't make sense for the kings?
Am I that out to lunch or is it just no one likes Bolland?

#Coyotes GM Don Maloney said Lindback will get bulk of work but team will be looking for options in market to bolster position.

Wonder why they didn't claim Khudobin?

Maybe the Wild will unload Niklas Backstrom?

Because Maloney is a moron.

Depressing stat of the day: Justin Williams has one less point than Kopitar... in one less game.

To me that shows that if you take our guys and put them on other teams then their stats go up by significant margins and that, as long as we're winning, we shouldn't be obsessing about Kopitar's points per game (for example).

Our players sacrifice stats for wins.

Brown's made some big sacrifices when it comes to offense. :naughty:
