Forsberg lost his spleen after Game 7.
Yep, it was found in a pickle jar in Norstrom's hockey bag. Loved that guy when he was a King.

Taking goalie Frederic Chabot from the Kings was a bit of a surprise, considering defenseman Garry Galley was on the unprotected list. But the Kings sent two prospects to the Predators earlier this month in exchange for Nashville selecting Chabot.
The Kings sweetened the deal by sending defenseman Jan Vopat and the rights to unsigned defenseman Kimmo Timonen to Nashville.
Then i must be really confused then because i can't find anything with him signing a KHL contract and from everything I've read and researched the guy was being punished because he wants to come to the Kings....
Successfully offer sheeted by SKA for three years:

Supposedly we balked on giving him up to EDM at the deadline too so that's one last 'no thank you' to a Kings' org who has seemingly tried over and over to get him here.
The full deal surrounding the Kings and Predators in 1998 involved:
Marian Cisar (May 29, 1998)
Jan Vopat (June 26, 1998)
Kimmo Timonen (June 26, 1998)
Vitali Yachmenev (July 7, 1998)
FYI, the Kings' unprotected list from the 1998 expansion draft:

Ruslan Batyrshin, d; Doug Bodger, d; Philippe Boucher, d; Dan Bylsma, lw; Frederic Chabot, g; Russ Courtnall, rw; Ray Ferraro, c; Gary Galley, d; Craig Johnson, lw; Jere Karalahti, d; Nathan Lafayette, c; Jaroslav Modry, d; Sandy Moger, rw; Jeff Shevalier, lw; Martin Strebak, d; Jukka Tiilkainen, lw; Mark Visheau, d; Tomas Vlasak, c; Jan Vopat, d; Roman Vopat, c; Magnus Werblom, rw; Vitali Yachmenev, rw; Doug Zmolek, d.
The Kings sent a package of four players to Nashville so that they would ultimately take Freddie Chabot for the purposes that Herby already touched on, to protect the Kings from losing a goalie in the following year's expansion draft.

The other reasoning behind the trades orchestrated between the Kings and Nashville was so that Nashville would pass on the opportunity to select Jere Karalahti in the expansion draft. At that time, Karalahti was considered to be one of the best defensemen playing outside of the NHL.
Years later, the Kings would end up trading Karalahti to Nashville in exchange for Cliff Ronning.

Buffalo and the Leafs with 12 picks this year, Sabres have 4 in the 3rd round.
Leafs with 2 picks in rounds 1 thru 4.
But there will be some shifts and changes, I expect this week leading up to and on draft day there'll be picks moving.
Could be some going tomorrow when the Red Wings trade Datsyuk and one goes with him.

Yup, the D in 2001 was actually decent, with Phillipe Boucher, Aaron Miller, Schneider, Norstrom, Modry, and a young Karalahti. That's if I'm remembering correctly...
So many people act like both uneven conferences and odd numbers are so rare. Every major sports league has done one or the other if not both for years at a time.
I think there will be another team but how long it will be I don't know. I think they want another team that would be in the west. So that means pac-central time zones.
Aesthetic reasons, nothing else. I mean, when setting the volume of the TV, don't you always want it to be at an even number or divisible by 5?
So is there any hope Prokhorkin comes over to Kings and is our Panarin ? Id love to see what the kid can do in the NHL being on the 3rd line too . However is his UFA status around the corner ? When do we lose his rights ?

#Ducks have signed RFA D Sami Vatanen to a four-year extension, taking a major trade chip off the market.

$4.875M cap hit for Vatanen, with Lindholm next up to be signed. Gotta imagine Cam Fowler's name pops up a few times leading up to draft
------------------------------
They also have to re-sign Lindholm to what will probably be a similar number (perhaps more term) and Rakell, doesn't leave much flexibility to upgrade with their internal cap.
Well, they'll probably get a top line forward for Fowler. Hall maybe. Then they still have Andersen as a trade chip.

Hall? no. Eberly maybe, definitely not Hall.
Fowler is extremely overrated anyways
