Why would you think anything will go down before the draft.
Not to mention we have a BOG meeting that expansion will likely be finalized. And I'm guessing all the details of the draft as well.
So GM's between now and that happening will be sitting on their hands on anything big.

Poster didn't say they think something will go down, but that they hope something will go down.

I agree with you nothing will likely happen before the 22nd when the board of governors meeting is. However I could also see Edmonton dealing their 4th for a D-man before or something like that. Again not likely but owuld not shock me either.

Even hoping means you must have some expectation that it could happen. I just don't see it and was wondering why they though it might even happen.
I can't see them making that deal before the draft.
There will likely be talks but until whichever teams knows who's there for that 4th pick they won't make the trade.
