I'm still amazed at how inept the Sharks look. No despiration. It's like getting to the final was their Stanley Cup, like making the playoffs was ours.

I think beating the Kings was. I'm surprised they didn't bust out the champagne after the series ended. If it wasn't for the Letang turnover in game 3 that lead to the Sharks tying it up, it would be over now.

The Pens have kept Pavs/Thornton/Burns in check, it's paid off. The Sharks have no offense with those guys off the board.

Sharks seem helpless without their precious powerplay. If the Penguins had a McNabb and Schenn on defense that would've been favorable for San Jose.

They lived off it the entire playoff series. Even when they had them, 0-5 in the last two games, they haven't looked as dangerous as they were against anyone else. The Pens have found a way to get in the lanes, and have won draws, unlike other series where SJ would win a draw, get it to the point and it's a goal.

That's because the Penguins are cheating.

Really impressed with the Pens no name D squad (sans Letang). Dumolin, Lovejoy, Cole, Schultz, and Maata all seem to be stepping up big time for them. Real impressed by Dumolin. I think the Sharks are kaput after this one.

5 games in LA:
Pavelski, 7-4-11
Burns, 4-7-11
Thornton, 2-4-6

10 games overall:
Pavelski, 9-7-16
Burns, 6-9-15
Thornton, 4-7-11

Who knew they could actually be kept in check? Man they destroyed the Kings this year, especially in LA.

Thornton isn't a goal scorer, but he still has yet to have more than 3 goals in any single playoff year. A career average of 22.6 goals per 82 games in the regular season, and 14.4 per 82 in the playoffs. It's crazy. 1st round, 2nd round, 3rd round, Final, it doesn't matter, he has yet to get more than 3 goals. Oates was 40 and had 4 goals back in 2003 for the Ducks.

It's funny, Thornton hasn't scored since Game 7 of the 2nd round. In 2014, Kopitar didn't score after Game 7 of the 2nd round. Gaborik kept scoring though, Pavelski has not up to this point.

They're talking about Hertl being done for the series like he's Patrick Kane. He's not that good. The guy who replaced him has more goals than the top 5 Sharks players.

Poor Sharks.

On one hand, it's an Eastern team and they can blow it but on the other hand, it's the Sharks and they are very familiar with choking. Not celebrating yet.

I feel a lttle sorry for our finned neighbours, Thornton and marleau are gonna fade out, burns probably cant repeat and it looks like theyre a step short this year

I do believe that travel is playing a big role for Sharks. This is a third opponent in a row, where they need to travel around 2.000 miles or more. Third opponent in a row where the time difference is at least 2 hours.

And then you combine this with the age of few key players and it is understandable for me that they are running on low fuel...

Why? If the Pens win it, the Sharks will simply have gone through the rite of passage for the California teams by losing their first appearance in the Final.

Hertl has turned into a very good two way player though. he is an above average fore checker and would be missed off most clubs

I would not mind if the Sharks take it to game 6 and then lose on home ice.

Having the cup in there for the other team will make it that much sweeter.

They'll have the Warriors parade to make them feel better.
