36 in October and the white/grey hairs are starting to pop up in my beard.

I imagine if I had a world wide choker label, I'd stress out more though.

What's fascinating is the Sharks are effectively experiencing exactly what they did to the Kings.

I was thinking that too, without the parade to the penalty box. The Sharks have played well, but their pp has carried them throughout their run. I think 3 of the 4 wins against us, the gwg was on the pp.

Dunno if this was posted already since I've been in and out the last few days, but man. I've always liked Kerry Fraser's takes for his honesty and this is a fantastic behind-the-scenes view.

You know, I never actually got to catch that this year, but it sounded amazing. But ugh, yeah.

Yeah, Iove that song. Love the band; have seen them play live. But **** them for their sports allegiances.

Basically. I love their music. One is fantastic especially live, but it's uncomfortable at a Kings game as part of the official intro knowing they're Sharks fans. lol

I remember that Game 6 in 1993 at the GWF. I thought at the time it was a definite penalty. And McSorley had to test the hockey gods' patience with that stick - and the hockey gods made the Kings pay. Thank God for Lombardi and Sutter for erasing that curse.

A lot of players played with illegal curves in the 90's. hasn't it be proven that the Canadiens had people testing the kings sticks before the game, so they knew who to pinpoint when they needed to?

what this **** is this about the NHL suing the NHLPA over the reduction in the Denis Wideman suspension?

Thanks for posting that, outstanding read. He was always a favorite of mine, I always felt he was one of the best and a very fair man, and I know from what players have said, he was very well respected.

I miss him esp in the playoffs, he called a good game.

Loved the part about Tyson Nash...and how Fraser's request changed him.

The NHL wants the original 20 game suspension restored.

NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly said in a statement, "We can confirm that the National Hockey League today filed an action in the federal district court for the Southern District of New York seeking to vacate Arbitrator James Oldham's arbitration decision reducing the League's supplementary discipline suspension to Player Dennis Wideman from 20 to 10 games. We believe that Arbitrator Oldham, in reaching his decision, exceeded his contractual authority by failing to properly apply the parties' collectively bargained standard of review.

Couple of things stood out here

I've been hearing and reading for awhile now that the Avs ares shopping Tyson Barrie. Which is crazy since defense is a weak spot , but maybe it's money. Anyway, how good is Barrie?

In addition to the stats they posted in the article of how much better the Avs are 5x5 when he's on the ice, this is impressive at age 24, he's still got some growth ahead.

Over the last three seasons Barrie is tied for 8th in goals (38) and tied for 11th in points (140) among defensemen.

In that same span Barrie ranks 6th in points per 60 minutes of 5 v 5 play. The only five ahead of him? Brent Burns, Victor Hedman, Erik Karlsson, Dustin Byfuglien and Mark Giordano. That’s ridiculously good company to be keeping.

The other thing was about Hudler, and how he should be a UFA that teams needed forward depth should look at

Over the last three years Hudler has averaged 2.19 points per 60 minutes of 5 v 5 play. That’s good for 16th in the entire NHL and ranks him ahead of Johnny Gaudreau, Anze Kopitar and Nikita Kucherov, among many others.

Fascinatingly enough, Hudler has been a more efficient 5 v 5 scorer than all of the top (potential) free agents like Stamkos, Okposo, Lucic and Loui Eriksson, among others.

I hated Fraser when he was a ref. Growing up I was a big Mario fan and I remember Mario getting into an altercation with Fraser. That was enough for me not to like him haha...Was more fickle then.

I agree with the Nash thing. Great incite there.

This is the NHL team logo's redone with Las Vegas flair. Some of them are pretty good (like the Detroit tire becoming a roulette wheel)

How the **** is our logo Elvis and not a playing card of a king?

Anyways, acquiring Barrie would finally fill the void Voynov left, but it will most likely be a hefty price. Barrie might be worth it though, the guy could breakout and be in the upper echelon of Dmen.
