This isn’t letting the players off the hook. None of the big-money, long-term guys (Getzlaf, Perry, Kesler, Hagelin, Silfverberg) are doing what they’ve done before, what we’ve come to expect. All but Perry have massively underachieved.

Asked if he’s confident the summer moves made will ultimately work, Murray shared his disappointment – and sharp criticism – in those who were already around.

“Let's be clear on one thing, putting all the blame on the incoming players would be totally unfair,” the GM said. “We had far too many returning players who decided training for this season was optional, thus a poor start.

“After succeeding during the past few regular seasons, suddenly we are underachieving and having to handle adversity, and some are not physically prepared to work through the challenge.”

Guy still works as hard as anyone in the game. I have heard he has his own keys to the team facilities as he like to work at strange hours sometimes. He is fing amazing and a great fit for FLA to have around their young kids.

We've had some gems of posters. NHLKING had such good outragous trade proposals one of the first replies once was 'The King has returned!'. Can't help but laugh :laugh:
We've also had someone try to use ratios to decide trades. Like if you were going to trade for RNH, a first round pick was the equivalent of 1/3 value for you, and he had a mathematical formula for players. Problem was execution in determining that value only came from his head.
 
I'm giving myself a probably permanent vacation from the general boards.

I love talking hockey with neutral fans and gaining perspective, but all the rational talk is drowned out by garbage. It's taken over by trolls that aren't quite breaking rules but clearly aren't there for neutral discussion.

Some of the main boards is great! Our dance off with the sharks was incredibly passive and positive before the series began, and was quite mellow even during the playoffs (stoll/brown discussion excluded of course). When discussion comes to the team's favourite player...oh mama. When Doughty was having his contract troubles, I noticed nothing but garbage proposals back. That's why I feel for the bluejackets. The Karlsson debate makes me crave morphine.

For as much flak the Canuck fanbase gave us, it seems now most of them are pretty mellow and comical. How our fanbase was pre-Doughty. Just stay away from the fanbase favourite player and you can usually do fair.
 
Finally.

Our long national nightmare is over. After a day of bad basketball, it will be nice to see ice hockey again. Looking forward to a nice run here...we have a chance to get healthy against some bad Pathetic teams. We shall see.

there's definitely some gems but I'm done joining in on anything even semi-controversial. The amount of drive-bys and unsubstantiated opinions just kills anything productive, especially when the mere mention of certain keywords draws out repetitive trolls. And like I said, it's not like anyone is breaking rules (although I'm sure some of the usual garbage falls under 'spam' or trolling, since some people only post inflammatory stuff under certain subjects), it's just become an unfilterable cesspool not altogether too different from yahoo or youtube comment sections.
