Yeah. TBH, the whole article, if you are a Flyers fan it sounds a bit disheartening. Some of their most important players seem emotionally gutted by some of the players that were traded away. They know they are playing out the string and sounds like Torts is already thinking about next season (assuming he still has a job).

It's obviously water under the bridge now but there's another angle from the icing line that while it looks like the puck gets pulled back it doesn't look nearly as black and white as the angle above so I'm not sure the goal would have been overturned.

As for Torts...he looked like a defeated man behind the bench last night. At one point with the score 4-1 or 5-1 he called a timeout and didn't even look like he was speaking to the team. He was literally just standing behind the bench.

After the Tampa series and Panarin, Bob, and Duchene all left, it was reported he was ready to bolt and had to be talked into staying at least another year. The impression given was he knew the CBJ didn't have the talent to compete and wanted to move on to more fertile grounds. Well, Philly doesn't have the talent either so you wonder if Torts just might try the same thing.

Philly wasn't a very talented roster to go to, he knew that, I think he was just looking for a new group of players to started molding after exhausting what we had here. And maybe now he's reached that point of exhaustion there.
 
Couldn't post this last night because the NHL apps not as robust as the websitein regards to stats.

Kiefer Sherwood is leading the league in hits with 404 hits (24.2 Hits/60). His next closest competitors are Luke Schenn and Will Cuylie at 270 and Ollie at 267.

Kole hasn't played professionally since 2021-2022.

Strangely I remember not too long ago this season that folks (at least locally) were kind of praising the Flyers and their work ethic and team structure, playing hard etc. The gist being that Torts got the most out of the roster.

I'm not really sure why Torts went to Philly in the first place though, did he think they'd be contenders in a short time... I guess the allure of having more control or whatever vague stuff was talked about was enough, but clearly that didn't work out too well.

Yeah they started a season strong I think, although I'm not sure I remember exactly right and I don't know for sure which season. But there seemed to be a sense he could do the same there that he did here and that Philly was gonna pass us up in their rebuild.

Not gonna pretend to have any real understanding of that situation. This post is not intended as a condemnation of Torts o the Flyers org.
 
I have to think this is the end of the line for “rebuilding” teams and Torts. It doesn’t appear he has the patience to go through what he went through here. I thought he was doing a good job in Philly, he nearly got them in last year, but it must be a mess over there this year as nobody in the flyers forum is upset.

If torts returns my guess it would be a team that’s ready to win or currently winning. Maybe if someone like Nashville decides to make a change, that’s somewhere that would interest him.

If torts is done coaching and doesn’t want to go into TV, I would be open to him joining the CBJ in some capacity if he wants it. I still have a ton of respect for him as a coach and what he did here.

I certainly think Columbus was closer to winning when he took over here than Philly is today.

That may be more of an indictment on the organization to not get the right players. They seem to have stepped backwards in the talent area. They have Konecny and Michkov. Who else can you build a team around there?

Meh, I guess. He benefited from being on a great team and playing in an era where there are no ties. French Canadian Chris Osgood, good numbers but not the reason why his name is on the Cup.
