Maybe so, but it’s always quite telling when it’s ALWAYS someone else’s fault.

In Winnipeg, it was his center or his coach playing him 2nd line ice time rather than first.

In Columbus it was his center, the PP sucking, and coach playing a defensive system. Then it was the coach was incompetent.

Now in Montreal it’s the center again.

Maybe it’s a Laine problem too

I understand . . . but you really need to watch Dach play right now, coming off his full year off last season. He can’t play at NHL pace as a center. It’s painful to watch him.

Laine is the first to tell you his 5v5 play isn't where it's supposed to be yet, but having Dach and Laine joined at the hip is a weird coaching move. Two guys coming off knee injuries, neither of which has played any hockey in almost a year... what could go wrong?

That article* posits the theory that Dolan has always been this kind of horrorshow owner; it's just that Sather was able to keep him in check. But as Sather withdrew in prep for retirement, we started seeing more and more moves like the Drury coup d'etat, and now that he's fully retired the crazy is on full display.

Sounds like the exact opposite. JD was fired for refusing to make rash decisions. He refused to fire Gorton to make way for Drury, the one who is responsible for the current mess.

Also I am going to laugh at your way of thinking, about how someone's "stench" from four years ago is going to be responsible for this. When you catch yourself thinking like that, you should wake up and realize you're being ridiculous.

Dolan is an awful owner. He just focused being awful on the Knicks more than the Rangers. My theory is he turned more to Rangers once they gots some high draft picks thinking they would turn into a good team. Davidson was in New York to draft Kakko and Lafreniere. (He also got Schneider and Cuylle so his track record for two seasons when he had a 1st pick, 2nd pick, 16th pick, 3 second round picks, and 18 picks overall wasn’t truly horrific. He also drafted fan favorite Matt Rempe.)

Yes, that JD. Well, Panarin and Kreider are now 33. Who are the stars of this team? The top of the draft picks from the JD era? Nope. One of those guys just got traded for Will Borgen and a third round pick.

If you go with the consensus and the consensus is wrong, then you are wrong. We give Jarmo kudos, rightfully so, for going against the consensus. All I have to say is if they had better drafts in 2019 and 2020 when JD was the man in charge, then they wouldn’t be where they are now. The stench of JD permeates.

PS: our 2019 draft pick when he had 2 picks (we traded back to get a third pick) looks better than their 2019 draft. Yay Jarmo!
