Georgiev got this game because it was the first game against his old team. Call it a professional courtesy, but I really don't think it's worth getting upset about. He's not good, hasn't played well, and once Vanacek is healthy, he'll likely be waived to play in the AHL in Askarov's place. Maybe Speer can sew him into a silk purse of a goalie, probably not. We can let him walk and the Kraken will pick him up to be better than Grubauer or something.

He cost us the game tonight, and that's whatever. If he costs us the game against Edmonton, maybe then we can start spouting conspiracy theories.

The funny this is neither of the bad goals were those situations. Just quick transitions. The book is out on Georgiev. Has been for a while. He goes down early. Glove high and it's almost a cheat code against him.
I wish he'd gone down early on the first goal

Georgiev has a lot of reasons why he might not be salvageable though. He's a little on the small side for what NHL goalies are these days and with his attitude, you wonder how coachable he is. But it's up to him whether he wants to be playing in the NHL or the KHL next season.
I really don't think it will be up to him. I think his play and his reputation will leave him no option except the KHL. He's already calling out his teammates and he's been here a week. What's he gonna be like in March if he's still on the team and spouting a .820 save percentage?

I wish he'd gone down early on the first goal
If he starts against Edmonton Askarov is gonna ask for a trade.

I think we’ve taken enough losses for the tank now.

Not even close. Nashville, Chicago and Buffalo are truly terrible teams this season. Sharks can end up drafting 5th-6th overall and missing out on all the higher tier prospects that would instantly be your 2nd best player.
I meant in the short term. We’ve caught up to them in terms of win % for the most part now. A win or two wouldn’t hurt across 4 games. But our schedule is pretty tough for the rest of December. Could see us going like 2-3 at best. 1-4 or 1-3-1 is my prediction.

Yeah, but you have to let him play to show he's actually better or nobody is gonna bite on that
I’m just saying let Speer work with Garbageiev for like 2-3 weeks before starting him again, if he could just get his fundamentals straight Garbageiev would be playable and most importantly tradable

It would be cool to just let Askarov start 2 weeks worth of consecutive games as long as we know he's got an extended stay.

Thrun coming on 100 games and still moves too slowly. If you can't make smart decisions, at least make fast ones...

For a period at least they were exiting their d-zone fairly quickly and smartly better than I've seen for a while. Then turtle time came.
