Laine’s big issue at even strength has been the play of his center, Kirby Dach. Dach has been atrocious.
Maybe so, but it’s always quite telling when it’s ALWAYS someone else’s fault.Laine’s big issue at even strength has been the play of his center, Kirby Dach. Dach has been atrocious.
I understand . . . but you really need to watch Dach play right now, coming off his full year off last season. He can’t play at NHL pace as a center. It’s painful to watch him.Maybe so, but it’s always quite telling when it’s ALWAYS someone else’s fault.
In Winnipeg, it was his center or his coach playing him 2nd line ice time rather than first.
In Columbus it was his center, the PP sucking, and coach playing a defensive system. Then it was the coach was incompetent.
Now in Montreal it’s the center again.
Maybe it’s a Laine problem too

...except for the part where their recent downfall is being tied in part to when he and Gorton were forced out.Well the Rags hired JD. They were smart enough to get rid of him, but maybe his stench is still there.

That article* posits the theory that Dolan has always been this kind of horrorshow owner; it's just that Sather was able to keep him in check. But as Sather withdrew in prep for retirement, we started seeing more and more moves like the Drury coup d'etat, and now that he's fully retired the crazy is on full display.
Also I am going to laugh at your way of thinking, about how someone's "stench" from four years ago is going to be responsible for this. When you catch yourself thinking like that, you should wake up and realize you're being ridiculous.
If they hadn’t just traded Kakko for that return literally yesterday, maybe you would have a point.
About JD??
The guy who was in charge when they had this great opportunity to make high draft picks that should be reaching their peaks in a few seasons when guys like Panarin and Kreider were getting to be around 33 and declining? Yes, that JD. Well, Panarin and Kreider are now 33. Who are the stars of this team? The top of the draft picks from the JD era? Nope. One of those guys just got traded for Will Borgen and a third round pick.
Maybe you didn't follow those drafts.
Actually I'm sure you know this but I'm going to say it because you're ignoring it. But JD is an old poobah, not a scout. He's not going to overrule scouts, especially on two of the most consensus picks we've had in years (Laf at 1 in 2020 and Kakko at 2 in 2019). There were no debates about those rankings.
Dolan is a sh*t owner. Ask Knicks fans. He meddled too much there for years....except for the part where their recent downfall is being tied in part to when he and Gorton were forced out.
