Europe. Somewhere.
Well, it is what it is. To be honest I don't expect us to be able to catch either the Rangers or Flyers now. Philly has 3 more points with 3 more ROW; we'd have to gain 4 points on them in 10 games, many of which games as we know are crammed together against other hungry, desperate teams.

One good thing on Friday, Philly plays Toronto. If we can beat Pittsburgh and that other game is decided in regulation, we'd either be 1 point back of Philly or completely clear of the Leafs for a WC, who'd be all but officially dead in the race.

BTW, since the thread is Around Hockey... Blackhawks at Bruins tonight. Could be the game of the year.

My main concern is the last week, 4 games in 5 nights, 3 on the road

So hard to get a read on those games. Right now, Dallas and Phoenix are battling for the last Wild Card spot in the West. I'm really hoping that race is decided before we play both of them back-to-back April 8th/9th. It'd really suck facing them back-to-back fighting for their playoff lives. If that race is decided, I like our chances better of getting points in those games. Then, hope for Tampa to be content with their playoff seeding and finish hopefully with an unmotivated Florida team.

Philly has 3 more points with 3 more ROW; we'd have to gain 4 points on them in 10 games,

We can gain two points on them by beating them in regulation next week. So then it's just gaining two more points in the other 9 games.:)

Ugh. Penguins lose their third in a row. They could have clinched their playoff berth with a point tonight. Who will be the more motivated team tomorrow night? Odds have to be against them losing four in a row but a girl can dream...

Habs win in regulation over the Wings. Price almost screwed up with under a minute left. Massive rebound on a simple dump in on him almost created a chance.
:handclap::yo: Thanks Habs

Well they know they will be getting in, but yes they will be out hot and heavy especially with the massive Pittsburgh fanbase coming in. Should be fun

Just read an article detailing how the Pens are fighting injuries and FATIGUE. Go figure. We might just have a bit of an advantage with two day's rest, fresh legs and clear minds on what has to be done.

I think our game with them will be their 3rd game in 4 days

You're right, it will be. I feel no mercy and will bet that the Jackets don't either. Looking forward to a nice physical game. I hope they take it to the Pens from the instant the puck hits the ice.

Penguins also had 37 shots(didn't watch the game so it could have been like when Columbus had 40 shots against the NYI but most likely not) so it's not like they were slacking off in tonight's game. Looks like they went all out tonight so hopefully they run out of gas tomorrow. Zatkoff played tonight so I expect to see Fleury tomorrow. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I guess it's hard to tell, when he's on, he's on but when he's not, he does poor.

They should just make a deal, go to OT(Pens gets the point they need) and then let Columbus win!

Glad we could pull the win tonight. I so want you guys to make the PO. I feel like you could cause a surprise on Boston in the 1st round.

Thanks for the help!:yo: Might call upon your services again on April 5th:)

We'll take Boston if that's what we get...but hoping to move a little higher in standings.

Wow...Pens just keep getting piled on with injuries. Sounds like Goc was filling in for Malkin and now he may be done for the season

The Pens had 13 minutes of PP time and couldn't score a single PP goal. They took 11 shots on net though.

Well, at least the Jackets are FINALLY getting help around the league. Flyers beat Leafs, and Rangers currently losing 2-0 to Calgary in 1st period.

Edit: Those damn pesky Rangers have tied it just as quick. I knew I was being too optimistic. Ugh

Rangers lose. Interesting.

How much better had this night had looked with a win? Shame.

Yeah, it would have been nice. No doubt. But at least we remain 6 points behind NYR with a few games in hand.
Another good thing is the Canes still appear to be a mess, so if we can finally get our offense going, I like our chances in that one.
Also, our last 4 games of the season are pretty winnable ( vs NY Islanders, vs Yotes, @ TBL, @ Panthers )
