Some of it is maybe passable yada yada GM speak and then he just starts trying to gaslight us into thinking Bruno is maximizing this roster.
Its the gaslighting about Bruno's ability to adjust to the roster that kills me. After 20+ games of trying to square peg round hole things players disappeared through injury/trade/waivwrs and he was forced into making changes. Those changes are kindof working for the short term

Can you explain it?

Well share it with the class!

Get top 5 pick
Get Cozens as no 2 C using the cap we get from moving/throwing away "older guys" like Fabbro and Carrier.
Start next season with a bunch of young guys and the "core" of Forsberg, Josi, Saros and Ror, Stamkos Marchessault and Skjei as secondary guys.

This is actually something I could get behind.

Trotz nor anyone in the organization will ever admit to gunning for a top 5 pick out loud but keeping Brunette in place most definitely gives them the opportunity.

"strategically" fire brunette before he gets to our top 5 pick. Just like we all thought it'd play out lol

Shit, I hope so. Honestly coming out of this year and into next year with a 1C from the draft, Cozens, and ROR sounds pretty damn exciting.
I want nothing to do with ROR any longer. He’s cooked. Hasn’t had the same intensity as last year. Is slower and will continue to get slower. Honestly, most of the team has lost it’s intensity from last year.

Give me some young hungry kids who want to learn to win together who have been winners whatever level they played at. How many culture guys does a team need? 2-3. Let them lead and have the others follow. Beyond that, we don’t need a gazillion of these guys.

Let's see. 18 skaters dress, so you gotta have at least 9 cereal winners.

When you're the worst team in the league, the entire concept is proven to be deeply flawed. It's a young man's sport. The next GM (see what I did there?) needs to be figuring out how to undo some of the retirement home contracts Trotz signed our skating grandpas to.

ROR can fit in at 2-3C during our "don't call it a rebuild, we've been retooling for years" or whatever Trotz wants to call it.

If we're going into a full-on rebuild (which you're describing, and which Trotz has specifically said he won't, by the way), RoR is one of the last guys one should give up. Not until he's a pending UFA at the earliest. The same sorts of middle-of-the-roster aging experienced vets that folks love for playoff renals are exactly the same sorts of guys you need to make sure kids are developing in a healthy environment. Don't let Bruno's dumbassery lead you to the misapprehension that we somehow have to get rid of them so the kids have room to thrive. That problem is solved by getting rid of the coach, not the vets.
