Sounds like a personal problem.Always cringey when someone says choice instead of pick
the point here is you dont take on guaranteed DEAD cap, considering its value, especially at ASTROMICAL amounts here. You see what happens for players that can still play. and bury them when they inevitably get injured, a la weber for the rest of his career now, ala hossa etc.way more money and way more years
wouldve taken 3 1st to dump 1
what you got for him in nhl 21 is irrelevant
Philly fans really thought Ghost had positive value
It's not just Fletcher, it's all the NHL GMs that were not interesting in him for free.Chuck Fletcher is irrelevant.
Are you aware of any examples where Future Considerations turned into a pick swap during the salary cap era (since 2005)?
i wouldnt agree, he just made a trade in the nhl while you bang away on your keyboard like you know betterChuck Fletcher is irrelevant.

This aged well…I would be irate. That’s horrendous.
ghost is NOT a cap dump.
Watch Ghost get used properly and make Fletch look even more stupid
This is what we did with Ghost this year:
played 19:56 a game-3rd most on team
played 2:41 a game on PP-1st on the team
Most common line mates were: Provy, Giroux, JVR, Hayes, Jake in that order
Ghost was not "buried" like some want to pretend. And he played well. It still resulted on no one wanting him for free.
I know the Preds traded Nick Baptiste to the Leafs for future considerations, which turned out to be the Marlies trading Emerson Clark to the Admirals (for "future considerations" that really were past considerations) immediately afterward. They couldn't do it straight across for some reason. And many times, such things are not announced. It's either essentially nothing or a handshake deal for a favor later (not taking a certain guy in the draft, helping make salaries work in a later trade, whatever).
I mean, pick would be more correct than choose, as the order of selection does matterAlways cringey when someone says choice instead of pick
LolololololPhilly fans really thought Ghost had positive value
Emerson Clark wasn’t signed to a NHL contract. Hence couldn’t be part of a NHL trade. There have been examples of future considerations including other “non tradable” things like scheduling preseason games, interviewing coaches, and some other odd stuff.
I’m not aware of a future consideration turning into a pick or a player—both things that can be included in trades, so no need to get creative.
195th overall pick (seventh round): Christain Djoos D
The Caps traded Keith Seabrook to the Calgary Flames in July 2009 for future considerations and they finally cashed in with a seventh-round pick in 2012. That pick turned into an important one as the team selected Djoos.
Djoos played 22 games on the third pair with Brooks Orpik in the team’s 2018 Cup run and looks to be a third-pair player again next season. Whenever you can find an NHL player in the seventh round of the draft, you deserve some kudos. Don’t believe me? Just look at Washington’s other two seventh-round picks.
Well time to admit I really didn't see this coming!
Fletcher is a clown and it will be more visible after Ghost's play turns out to be worth his contract. Still see him only slightly overpaid at the moment
Most recent example of a player for future considerations turned draft pick I can find is from 2009:
Looking back at the Capitals’ 2012 NHL Draft: The Forsberg draft
Nice find. Thanks, something to research.
We didn’t have quite the social media outlets with every reporter tweeting left and right back then. Find out how difficult it is to search out the underlying details.
