If this doesnt further prove, how Bill Guerins choice on double buyouts without discussion to his players and GUARANTEEING dead cap over over $12mil for 3 consecutive years was one of, if not, the worst GM decision in the last decade, I don't know what else to tell those in denial

Future considerations = something. Could be as little as a swap of 7th rounders in 2023 or something.

Actually, it can't even be that, or they would have included that conditional swap into the trade itself.

Future considerations is kinda like Goodwill. "Thanks, maybe we'll remember this favor in the future".

Great trade for AZ. Ghost is a good player on a fair contract.

Ghost's reputation doesn't match reality.
That's the thing. Ghost isnt even bad. If you have the cap and a spot for him, he could have a good year.

Of course Philly must have an extreme need of space, so it could work out okay for them

It's not a bad deal for the Flyers. Moving cap is expensive. Maybe people will start to comprehend that this offseason finally.

Crazy. So Seattle could have gotten probably a 1st and 2nd if they took Ghost.

Instead Francis took a scrub

How were more NHL teams not in on this? Ghost is serviceable and can still work the PP. Add a second to take him? Absolutely wild.

I'm honestly pissed Poile didn't consider this. Could've used that second/third and another good defenseman.

Hard to believe Francis/Seattle were just like "eff it, we'll take Twarynski," rather than get paid a 2nd+7th to select Ghost.

That's wack.

They would have gotten a lot more. Because they were owed a player in the ED.

Bc it would have been take Ghost + picks so you don’t take a guy like Hagg. Zona got a 2nd/7th with no ability to take Hagg. So it would have been substantially higher.

But then they took a scrub lol

Coyotes only had OEL, Chych and Bush as NHL d. Last season the powerplay was inconsistent at best and they didn't get much scoring from the blue line. I'm happy to have Ghost. They can pair him with a defensive defenseman to cover him and he should fit nicely. Getting a 2nd rounder is icing on the cake.

Clearly cap space and the next few moves mean more to Philly than Ghost (which every team could have had for free when they waived him last year).

Well that's what I mean. They were targeting a rando anyway. They didn't forego taking a better player from Philly.

So why not just eat Ghost for a couple of picks? He's not a bad player.

So Bill Armstrong was hired as the Coyotes GM last September. He was handed a losing team with no draft picks.

He traded Stephan for a 2nd and Hill for a 2nd. Then got paid two 2nd rounders for taking on Ladd, and now another 2nd rounder for taking Ghost.

That's 5 2nd rounders added. And the player personnel change is only.

Out: Stephan, Hill
In: Ladd, Gostisbehere

Give this guy some credit. He stocked the cupboard quickly since being hired, and the team isn't much worse.

Just quoting for visibility. We're happy in AZ. Seattle was going to take Hill.

what happened to this guy?

he was supposed to be the next big thing after his rookie season and now he's literally worth nothing?
