If I'm Sateri, I say f*** it and stay home lol.

I'm a Coyotes fan, but this made no sense for a move to make. You trade Wedgewood for spare change (they weren't getting much) but then pick up a bigger question mark who's coming to challenge.
This is totally bush league. I’m so tired of players we acquire having to go through waivers only to be F#%*ed over by an absolute tire fire of a team.

Guy signed with the intention of getting a shot at a team hurting for goaltending but in a playoff race. Instead he will be rubbing elbows with Phil the Thrill and sitting in a Sauna in two months. Send the Coyotes the big middle figure and stay home.

I know your a yotes fan and appreciate you being critical of the move. Seems everyone here is just happy to stick it to the TML.

I hope he's the next Tim Thomas. I will literally never stop laughing.

Dubas grasping at straws in net.....this team isn't getting past round one.

When you build a team based on some strange affiliation with the Soo Greyhounds, what do you expect. Dubas is not a good GM.

I found Dubas's comments about how the Leafs have had way more waiver claims than any other team interesting.

He seemed to be putting it on the big market and having a lot of eyes on it, but isn't that also the GMs job to know if a guy will clear before you waive him?

I'd refuse to report to Arizona if I were Sateri since he signed from Europe to play in Toronto and then just wait for the off-season.

Imagine signing in a big hockey market and then all of a sudden getting picked up by a team that plays in a university arena of 5K capacity of which not even half is full.

What a JOKE!

Isn't his guy a random minor leaguer in his early 30's? Not sure how big of a loss this is for TO to be quite honest. Or why Arizona even felt the need to steal him away from the Leafs for that matter.
I'm telling you; it's an effort to show they're not intentionally losing for best draft rankings.

I mean losing a guy with 9 NHL games in 14 years since being drafted isn't the worst thing in the world.

The part that makes no sense is why does the player have to go through waivers (past even teams above the team that signs him in the standings) for you to get that player.

In that case you should hope someone else signs him because you have a better chance to get the player.

Even if Arizona signed him, Colorado could claim him before he's allowed to play for Arizona. Makes 0 sense.

It's to keep teams from "parking" UFA's in Europe with the plan being to sign them for a playoff run.

This logic doesn't make sense. If yotes had passed him then any other team in playoff position could have picked him too if he had reached that far.

there's a hole in that rule

The best part of deadline day has no doubt been watching Steve Dangle melt down over a rule he apparently just learned existed. How can you be such a “prominent” hockey pundit and not know the history behind why waivers exist for non-NA free agent signings?

As a hardcore Leaf fan myself I detest that manchild. Just goes on to show you don't need any knowledge/skills to be granted a "Tv Spot" regardless whether it is netflix, amazon prime or sportsnet

It allowed AZ to feel confident to trade Wedgewood a guy they picked off waivers 4 months ago for potentially a 3rd round pick. At worst a 4tg round pick. For a guy we claimed on waivers. If anyone should be complaint it’s Devils fans.

I'd bet Säteri doesn't give a shit about this. He gets his money either way.
It's just really funny to me, hope Leafs have Källgren playing out of his mind and Campbell returning or it could get bad. Mrazek should never be close to NHL crease again.
Actually, that was one of the main issues with him.
